Hi everyone, just letting you all know that FenPhoenix has started playing through T2X on youtube, in my opinion T2x continues to be one of the greatest collective achievements of this community, and something we can all be very proud of :)
Fen's Let's plays are extremely entertaining and fun, WAY less sweary and angry than Khad! (actually I loved Khads videos but he seems to have given up :( )
So please show your support for T2x, Fen and this awesome community and check it out! :thumb:

might as well relight the levels for him again - T2x really benefits from 32bit lightmaps, as this eliminates the discolorations almost completely.

Glad you still visit, Saturnine! I hope your new work is rewarding and enjoyable!

might as well link it here too: (

newskies, EP, T2 water and 32bit relit missions, extract to your T2x folder, overwrite. will work regardless of whether you are running T2x as FM or as standalone (running as FM is recommended).
if you don't know what did I just say, just do that and (

please report any anomalies.

This gives me the itch to play T2X again. Especially with the new eye candy!
I love Fen's videos, too. One of my few Youtube subscriptions. :)

Hey guys, Fen here. Thanks for the shoutout. :) And once again I appreciate the relights and upgrades, voodoo47. It really does look gorgeous. To anyone thinking of playing T2X, I would recommend this upgrade for the 32-bit lighting alone. It really does make Thief look gorgeous, effectively getting rid of jagged shadows and colour banding. And the EP, skies and water are tasteful and non-intrusive to the intended atmosphere (so far and IMO). Very nice!

I'll probably make a "smart" version sooner or later, one that will autodetect the type of install, and hook itself on the mods installed by TafferPatcher. while this will add a prerequisite (TafferPatcher install), it will cut down the size significantly and will be a lot cleaner and less redundant that the current makeshift solution.
sidenote: the T2x maps could use a bit of tweaking to better accommodate the new engine (NewDark makes some puzzles a bit too easy, thanks to the fixed mantling). in theory, I could do it, but I think this is something that should be done by the original authors, if they are still around. plus, I have my hands full with fixing System Shock2's maps - btw Fen, when the first beta goes public, you will probably be required to do another (fully enhanced) SS2 LP.. :ebil:

If I see a place where it looks like I'm not supposed to mantle, I generally don't. Things like small windows, I know from a long time of FM playing that those are not supposed to be mantleable, so I won't do it unless I'm supposed to get through by crouching on a crate, in which case I have to mantle to get around the no-crate-crouch thing in NewDark. Anyway, yeah, that's my philosophy and if you could conveniently ignore that time I broke it in the Soulforge crusher'n'robot hallway, that'd be great. :sly:
