I did have an episode of sleep paralysis as well. Back in the states I was in the habit of going to breakfast immediately after morning exercise (PT), then catching a quick catnap in the back of my car before work. So when it hit me, I was crammed into a stuffy sleeping back and curled into an uncomfortable position. Being unable to move, in a claustrophobic situation, and curled up was a nightmarish experience. Fortunately I had an alarm set so my body woke up after a minute or two.
I've also had some awful dreams while ill. What I've noticed is that when I get these illness-induced dreams, its always caused by a virus infection. Using Benadryl(and for some reason that name-brand only) also has the same effect.

I spent a while trying to coach myself to lucid dream, which can apparently be done. I ended up having to stop as every time I started lucid dreaming, I ended up in sleep paralysis, which was not only terrifying at the time, but also left me feeling subdued for a couple of days.
Fascinating, but also terrifying.

How did I do this? I not only wrote out my nightmare, I even posted a video recreation of it as it happened!
You are correct sir. I will merely choke my chicken instead.
