Well, maybe not worth the years long wait or as good as
Thief/SShock2/Half-Life but great plot direction, a superb cast of charcters and a very polished game made this one worth playing. I had a long break from this one after getting to the start of Hong Kong and was fairly unimpressed and I preferred to play other games (Thief Fm's and Shogun mostly) but I resumed after a while and from Hong Kong onwards it rocked. A rare example of a game that truly improves as you go along. Paris was awesome and the plotline came together a lot for me there. The introduction of Daedulus/Icarus/Helios turned the plot from being good to great (guess which ending I plumped for)

I finished playing it today too.
I have now completed it 1 and 1/2 time, first time I played it I got to the superfreighter, then I had to format my harddrive and forgot to make backups of my savegames. Doh'! So I had to start over from the begining (on normal-difficulty). Well, that wasn't so terrible. I'm defenetively gonna play it again soon on hard- or realistic-difficulty.

Heh,
I had the same prob.
Harddrive format "took me out" somewhere around Versalife. Killed my buzz.
I finaly got a hold of SS2, and when that was finished.. where else to go but back to
Deus Ex.
Needless to say it was worth restarting.
