Finishing up FM, release questions.. - by ObservingEye

So I'm pretty much done. Whew!
My question; I've read the best release practices thread and want some clarification. I see that I could upload to thiefmissions via the upload thingy. Would that be a good way to release it? Or there are better options?
Sorry if this seems apparent but not to me. I just want to release in the best way that anyone who wants to play my fm can. Thank you guys. Everyone here at the editors guild, you've been such an awesome help.

You can upload the (tested, no public beta) mission to thiefmissions or upload it somewhere (Mediafire or something) and PN Brethren (Southquarter) or Lord Soth (Taffersparadiese) a download link.

Can't stress the importance of beta testing enough. Even if there aren't any tech issues (unlikely) it's still vital to get some fresh eyes on it, to comment on the logical flow. Especially if there are any puzzles.

Betatest is definitively something to consider. I can't tell how they do it, but betatesters will find anything that isn't working properly within the few hours.

I agree. Releasing a mission no one else tested is just inviting disaster. You should get at least 3 other people to play through it a few times and report bugs and gameplay issues, and even suggest improvements. You'll be shocked at all the good feedback you'll get if you have an open mind about it.

Certainly. I hadn't intended on not beta testing it, I just wasn't clear on how to get it uploaded for some reason. Either way, I'll swing on over to that forum that marble linked and get going on that. Thanks everyone.

If you're just uploading it for testers, you can use Google Drive, Dropbox, mediafire etc.
