I hope this sells enough to warrant a sequel
Terror from the Deep HD could be interesting. This engine could render some truly horrific sea monsters loosely based on the originals.

I'm currently playing and loving it, but there are a few things that nag at me, mostly because I've played Silent Storm.
While environmental destruction is pretty awesome, why isn't there a "free aim" mode where I can choose to destroy cover? Why do I have to have an enemy to fire at?
Sure rockets and grenades have free aim, but they're limited use and just being able to shoot out a door or wall with a gun adds so much to a game.
It may be on higher difficulties, but why can't guns cause friendly fire?
And similarly, where in Silent Storm each bullet impact was accurately modelled so missing your main target may result in hitting the guy behind, a miss in XCOM is just a miss. That's a massive shame. The amount of times a stray bullet missed a target in Silent Storm yet killed his buddy or hit an exploding barrel next to him was AWESOME.
However, what I really, really like is how quick missions are.
Instead of one massive meal that's hard to finish in one sitting, this is delivered in bite-sized chunks of awesome.

They can, and they do. I've missed with a rifle and hit a teammate. At least, on Normal.

Missing your target but hitting something else also happened in the original UFO - shame that is gone.
Still, this game is aaaawesome! Racked up nearly 40 hours already and I've only had it a week!

Are you
sure about that Ulukai?
Unless it's explosives, I've never seen a shot damage a target other than the intended one.
I've seen missed shots where the plasma bolt has hit a character, but no damage has been cause.
Sure, I've seen walls and doors get destroyed by missed shots, but I've never seen any damage from friendly fire other than explosive.

I'm 72% sure (8% penalty for posting several weeks after I last played it)

Hunker down a bit to increase your certainty percentage but decrease the chance you're right ;P

Don't forget that if this thread is classic or impossible difficulty that your opponent has an additional chance to be right.

Ulukai is right, i've hit teammates on several occations with standard rifles as well as missed my target but hit another alien. I play on classic difficulty and it's rare but it happens. :)

Friendly fire has a high chance to happen when your soldiers panic. There are stories of berserk chain reactions that screw up all your team members because they shoot at one another and cause the next guy to panic. That's the problem with berserk. I believe a unit that goes berserk will always target another unit (friendly or hostile) so they never fire at random spots.
