I recommend watching it on slow speed in Windows Media Player. The music is... different. It feels almost subversive.
That's because it isn't a music sample for the actual game but a remade one from an older game in the same series. Sync's well still.
Time to reedit my first post more.

I put it up here too: (

Re: the bow, more than anything I just think it just looks out of place. Kinda like giving Garrett a shotgun or something. It doesn't really fit into a medieval or steampunk setting. And it kind of reminds me of (

Also, I'm a bit surprised this 20 second clip is giving people hope, and/or it would give anyone the impression the game will be "promising." This isn't gameplay, and it's probably made by a group of people who will have absolutely nothing to do with the actual game. The movie is interesting, but as far as being representative of how the game will turn out, it's completely irrelevant.

I dunno, I don't think EM has proven itself as the type of studio to pull fast ones, thus far. This may be the real deal, and not just some Disney-esque development process where preproduction artists screw around with radical ideas before settling on the "same-thing-we-always-do" shtick.
But we shall at least hold our breaths until the next scrap of development evidence appears no? I'm honestly not looking foward to T4 anymore, anyways. :bored:
(Not w/ how terrible TDS was. No sir, I'm not investing my time in a game I already know will be different from the original LG titles)

Well, at least there is a lot more in these clips that you can point to gameplay other then that one they made for Deus Ex.
-Their will be a Flash-bang or grenade thing (I say flash-bang sense he's running away from a guard at the end of the clip and thats thrown down, New design)
-Their will be Lockpicking (Flashy but what high budget game doesn't like to give the players flare nowadays)
-Their will be a bow (Updated composite bow, will this change how arrows shoot? to be answered later but for lurking it works, if they give it a Mechanical look cool for the story)
-The clips shows Thieving, not just action (Boo TDS FMV). Since the clips are probably not ordered correctly just like the rest of the demo reel was (They usually just showcase cool things in larger FMV's) I'd say he prepares, cases the joint (Look! Pretty! Smile), finds the necklace in a hidden safe, Lockpicks, Guards come so he shoots one, and then he runs from the other dropping a flash-bomb. I'd say that pretty much sums up Thief well, so that Type of gameplay being Showcased in a FMV gives me a sense that that will factor into the game in a major way. And since its a demo reel, those are THE shots that makes a viewer go OOO I'm hiring him.
It also showcases a lot of hints at how the game may be displayed like...
~Dark not Blue
~More Anime style, not traditional
~Still Gritty
~FMV's will be CGI, probably won't get the traditional moving painting FMV's (I'm cool with this)
~Setting is after the events of last game (New Flashbomb, New Bow, Fancier Cloths)
~Garret has both a Hoody, and a ninja mask (Apparently, can be debated)
~Garret IS in the game (Unless that's someone else that looks remarkable similar to him when he smiles)
After reading over the thread and 20 seconds of video that's what I've surmised so far. So ya I find it promising.

I disagree. The first cinematic trailer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution seemed perfectly commensurate with what the final product wound up being.
That said, this isn't a 'proper' trailer. Just a random conglomeration of disparate cutscenes who are only conjoined in order to provide an exhibition of the animator's lighting abilities. In that sense, it isn't really made to show us what the final game will be like. But it does provide a few hints as to the art style and general feel.

The cinematic would have been created under strict supervision to adhere to the style and tone of the game. Notice how it focusses on thieving skills of hiding, watching, lockpicking, etc. The way Garrett holds his lockpicks out like a conductor...he's a master thief!
I think the fact they highlight these attributes is a
very good sign for the game itself.
