Benny's Dead by The Gingerbread Man, although I played it some years after it's 2000 release date. Still my one of my all time favourites.

Calendra's Cistern, and it pretty much melted my brain.

Autumn in Lampfire Hills.
I just tried it for a lark, but then left Thief FMs alone for several years untili 2009 when I got back into them full swing.
Been swinging ever since.

Mine was The Vigil, but I didn't know anything about FM loaders or the like, so I was just opening them up in DromEd and using alt+g. (hey, I was 11, gimme a break!) I was blown away by the design, but found it super frustrating that I couldn't save or load, so I'd hafta either beat it in one go or start from scratch.
I discovered darkloader a couple years later. The first FM I ever completed using darkloader was The 7th Crystal. Needless to say, I was hooked.

Well well well! :D
I am surprised I'm the first to mention the original
Gathering at the Bar, the FM that proved to LGS the fan community was worthy of the editing tools. :p To be honest, I played it, liked it, then promptly forgot about FMs for two years, and only returned when there was already a handful of them. At that time, my point of return was the excellent
Death of Garrett, which set the stage nicely for what would follow.
