Unreal Gold. The levels are primarily exploration focused, and it shows. The sparseness of enemy encounters, the numerous optional caches and diverging paths leading to completely optional sections of the levels. I think Unreal was among the first few FP-explorers in this sense. And I'd say it's safe to say it influenced elements of games like Metroid Prime, with the scanner. Despite its refined shooting, I think it's hard to really call it a pure shooter when a good portion of the game has you out of combat scenarios.

This ticks so many right boxes that I'm going to take a break and squeal with delight in a corner. BRB.
The only thing that bothers me at this moment is that it looks a bit like "OCR A Extended: The Game".

That does sound pretty interesting.

Oh man that looks great. I was really looking forward to seeing what would become of that and holy cow.
