Ancient City looks
awesome. I think I'll get it. I <3 dungeon crawls.
I have this and have barely even scratched the surface. I love dungeon crawls too but they take so much fucking time. :(

The KF series is one of the unsung greats that tragically passed just about everyone by. Sluggish controls aside, everything cool about dungeon crawlers is represented splendidly in these games. Moody and eerie atmosphere, interesting locations, lots of secrets, great music. You owe it to yourself to give em a go.

Thanks. I'll give them a shot. Any of them on PC?

Not strictly an RPG, but this thread reminds me that I still haven't gotten around to playing Azrael's Tear.
I gave that a try. Ran too slowly on DOSbox I'm afraid. :( Would love to see a remake.

Nope. PS1/PS2 only. You could try an emulator if you're into that sorta thing.
Also, I found a link to an old game I played a bit of back in the day: (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HZauGPtwms&feature=related) Wizards and Warriors. It's kinda cheesy, and wasn't really my cup of tea, but if you like the old Wizardry games, this one might pique your interest.

Dungeon Keeper anyone? Tho the first person view is a spell addition ;)

Same for me, though I would've played it long ago if I could have gotten the goddamn game to work. (I think it was the HOTU copy, and it was missing files.)
Perhaps someone knows where some actual CDs of that game might be sold?

How about Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight? That was technically the first FPS-RPG I ever played, before I even knew the genre. It's still one of my favorites.
*edit*
...and I realize other people have already expressed this sentiment, but it really can't be said enough: stay away from Hellgate. Just...stay away.

How about Might and Magic VII: For blood and Honor ?
Or any other Might and Magic title ? (But 7 is the best)
It´s first person, even if you control 4 characters instead of one. But be aware that the game has a big hud with portraits and big buttons on the edges so the immersion factor of being first person is a bit lost.

Add Betrayal at Krondor and Betrayal in Antara to those Might n' Magic titles.

Really? Then I am all good! That's the only one I own/have played. I'd love to finish it.
