@ Clock - You have to have a
romantic heart. The two servants rooms near the kitchen area.Hmmm,
I've been to those places and read all the journals and crumpled bits of paper, but no bonus objective was triggered

Cassandra (the one who swiped the necklace) likes to think of herself as a noble. She would never hide anything under the stairs in the servants' part of the mansion. Climbing up on boxes and looking east will help.
The vault guards: Father Moore's Holy Gear is supposed to freeze them, but there's an intentional window where they will move now and then. As for Roland's amulet, he took it with him. Since I'm fixing other things, I'll clarify that bit in Moore's journal.
About the secrets: Most of them are related to specific loot locations, and there are hints for all but two in various journals. The two with no hints are not loot items.
About Roy: His secret doesn't do anything. It adds a little color to his character.

Thanks for clarification Catman - I'm looking forward to more hunting.
@ Clock - Outright spoiler. Well they were both writing about what they felt and were worried cos' they thought they were silly love letters and would never send them. Being an incurable romantic I thought I'd swap them. I picked hers up first and took it to his room and dropped it on the table and then found the objectives were triggered.

I'm more of a sneak.

Well yes, but they were crying out for help you know! :D
Sometimes when you get these cries of passion and 'lost love' I knock 'em out and then put them in the same room so when they wake up - you know? Mad, but there ya go.

8. Under the stairs on the west side(spider infested crawl space in corner) - climb boxes and look at the east wall.
That was a tricky one Catman

Is that anything to do with the necklace hidden under stairs which the ***** guest wrote about. It will still take me an age to actually figure out where that is anyway.

Look at the map depicting floor #1. On the west side is "Stairwell". Head there. Once you've located it, look under at the 4 unfrobable boxes. Climb them and stare at he wall until you see the tiny "slot" housing the necklace.

another secret:
look for a x mark in the servants attic.
I'm still missing 40 loot (4054/4094) and a secret
