Old news, Flux already did this in "Valley" with some pagan Shaman, seeing Garrett in the dark until he finds a workaround :)

The Watchers can't see Garrett in the dark--ever. If they can, there's a glitch, or the light gem is brighter than you think.

I remember to having seen the Watchers caughting me in the complete darkness too, even if I just leaned myself.

I did explain in a few different threads but no problem:
This is how I did, pretty simple: Just play with the VisualAcuityMultiplier under AIsensory. You can set up a script to modify that property during game. That property is default to 1 which is for normal guards, any value more than 5 will make them see you more, even in darkness. Give it something like 99, ai will see you no matter what distance you're away from them or no matter how much darkness you're surrounded with.
With the same logic AudioAcuityMultiplier makes the ai hear more or just make it zero, your ai will see but become deaf.
