Alright, I have another noobish problem: I made a kitchen sink out of brushes, by making a solid block that is the counter, carving an air brush into it, and putting water into the air brush. Then, of course, comes the flow brush so the water has a proper texture.
But... it doesn't work:

Comparison screenshots of places where I did flow brushes EXACTLY THE SAME WAY and they work:
the outside pool, here I for some reason had to make it bigger, but it works fine:

EDIT: I actually managed to fix it by making the brush larger. But why did I have to do that? I don't understand that part of it.
From what I have gathered in the tutorials:
- Flow brushes have to be inside an air or water brush with their center, if the center is in a solid, it doesn't work;
- Flow brushes have to encompass the entire surface of the water; but it DOESN'T have to encompass the entire brush (so it works even when it doesn't touch the bottom of the water brush, but then why did the kitchen sink's flow brush only work when I made it bigger? I don't get it!)
Currently I'm just randomly resizing the things until they work. Did I read the tutorials wrong when they said the brush only has to include the surface of the water? It's strange.

I always make my flow brushes slightly larger than the water brush. I never tried just flow brushing the surface, but in larger areas I don't think it would work correctly when the player swims under water.
As long as you make your flow brush larger that the corresponding water brush it should work every time. :)

Ah, all right. I was under the impression that the flow brush only had to cover the surface, for some reason.

I do the same as John, and have never tried just having it surround the surface. That being said, flow brushes can be quite finicky sometimes regardless of how you handle them.

"possessed by satan" were the words I've used when referring to flow brushes last time I had to mess with them, I believe.
