Just out of curiosity, are you counting campaigns as one or as as many fms are in the campaign?
Dev_Anj on 30/12/2015 at 02:38
He's counting campaigns as one it looks like, since Gems of Provenance had 4 missions where 2 were reworked versions of already released missions and 2 were brand new. Chalice of Souls consisted of two missions too. Yet he listed the number of Thief: Gold missions as 5.

2015 isn't over yet. :) I'm trying to get mine released before new years.
That's surprising to hear, though it would be good if you did it.

I suspected as much. I wonder if that is sufficiently misleading to consider revising all the numbers. Or just the heading to reflect that it isn't a mission count, but a release count instead?
Yandros on 30/12/2015 at 05:46
That means DCE and GORT's RotB2 are going to each have 10 missions but count as one release? Ouch. Guess you got to pick one way to do it and be consistent, though.

@ Yandros
Uh... Make that 12 for TROTB 2, and that's not including the hidden missions. :p

The campaign issue came up in the past. I scoured the old posts but never saw any resolution to the issue. However, given that I've done a couple of campaigns, I suppose we could break them down, if you wish. Of course, I'll have to go back and change past numbers.
Take, for example,
Gems of Provenance. Two missions were previously released, two are brand new. If someone wanted to split hairs... See what I mean?

What are we saying? The total should be 6?
While y'all chew on this, I'll go back and start updating the numbers.

I thought we decided that campaigns would count as one per mission, but that re-released missions (like being updated for NewDark or revamping previous missions when including in a campaign, like Gems of Provenance) would not count. So that Gems campaign release would count as 2, not 4 (but also not 1). In other words, individual missions count the first time they're released, but not if they are ever just updated, even within a campaign containing other brand new missions. Part of that is because some refreshes of previously released missions are minor, while others are major overhauls and it's too much hassle and also grey area to try and decide which would count and which wouldn't.

But surely short camvator-only missions inside a campaign shouldn't count?
Ricebug on 30/12/2015 at 16:28
Agree with NV, as there are campaigns with "intro" missions, as well as "exit" missions, although very rare.
And Yandros is ringing my bell. It starts to get into a haggling match between what should be counted, what should not, what is fair or unfair, etc.
Joe Schmoe drags up a mission he created in 2008, re-compiles it under New Dark, and calls it "updated" because he's made "significant" improvements to it.
Mary Mary, on the other hand, dusts off an FM she created 5 years ago, adds new AI, new objectives, some new areas to explore, and posts it as an "updated" mission.
This puts us in the uncomfortable position of determining the legitimacy of each author's efforts. I, for one, don't want to open up Joe Schmoe's mission in Dromed, and go around trying to verify that what he's regurgitating is legitimately "updated." PITA for one thing, not to mention despicable.
With all that fluff, I can break down campaigns, eliminating any camvator missions, and chart them like that, if y'all agree. (Yeah, I lived in Texas, doing 3 tours of duty in the Air Force.)

The easy way out would be to list the number of campaigns as a separate number from the number of releases. That would make it clearer for the readers while avoiding arguments on what should be considered an actual mission, whether the amount of updating done is sufficient, should remakes count etc.
