Hello TTLG'ers! I'm always on here taking advantage of access to mods and missions; wanting to give back to the site a bit (but being short of donation funds ;)) I have begun (
http://sycamoyr.wordpress.com/) a Blog to explore FMs. I'll give my overall impression of the mission as well as a brief description (without too many spoilers hopefully) of how I survived and my reaction to various aspects of the missions.
I thought this might be a good way to reinvigorate interest in old missions as well as give an enticing description of FMs to those who have not played them yet. I always find myself unsure of what missions to play when I have nothing more than the title to go on, so now I have begun to follow the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138745) Greatest Fan Missions Timeline page.

Thanks Nickie, I just posted my reaction to the Circle of Strain 2 and will be doing the 3rd one soon. I plan to play the Calendra series next.

We've had a few folks begin similar exercises but the writers seem to lose steam fairly quickly. Good Luck!

I think the process is overwhelming. There are hundreds of FMs out there. It would literally take weeks to finalize the rough draft/Beta version, then make changes to it.... And kudos to all, whom have started their own process. :)

fantastic of you sycamoyr, but it is a huge undertaking for one person, esp with so much detail involved. i have often thought such a blog/guide is so very much needed and have made a suggestion in the forunm above your post, any comments by you as to my idea would be very much appreciated.....in the meantime enjoy....you only have another 1700 fms to go :D

I just finished writing about (
http://sycamoyr.wordpress.com/2014/03/10/calendras-legacy-a-winters-eve/) my reaction to Calendra's Legacy: A Winter's Eve
What a sweet series, I definitely recommend it!
I agree, it is quite the under taking, but I think I can do it if I pace my self well. I don't want to make any of this work, so it's strictly reactions rather than full reviews. I'm playing Thief 4, but I still enjoy the legendary classic Thief series, and intend to continue playing fan missions. Can you believe I have never played a fan mission for Thief 3? Not sure where to begin there.
