Interesting discussion this. I mostly echo Yandros' statement above. Missions that were made with ghosting in mind usually become too easy. By far, the ghosting experiences I look back on as the most memorable, are those of missions that never even cared about the ghost rules. Those where I had to think outside the box to deal with ghost challenges that I had never encountered before. Solving such challenges is far more rewarding than breezing through a mission that didn't challenge me at all, giving myself a "well-earned" pat on the back when I didn't even break a sweat.
I'd say don't even think about the ghost mode. Make the mission you want to make, period.

I've been told in the past to not specifically make my missions ghostable, but I have done so while setting it up so the ghoster has to figure it out. If you make a mission obviously ghostable you might as well draw a line on the ground to direct the player. :p One idea I have about scripted fights between two teams of AI... have the AI involved in the fight removed from the map or placed/teleported to a blue room to keep them from encountering the player.
