Strange! When I test dml's I've never had the need to uninstall and then re-install FM, but I only ever use FMsel, (tafferpatch is very old and I'm not sure about it's compatibility with dml's as a general rule of thumb) and I can't seem to open Dromed with Angelloader so I use FMsel by default. Then I can both play a mission and have Dromed open at the same time.
I assume you know that you always have to restart a mission when you install a dml, otherwise yes FMsel uses the same settings as the previous play.

Of course I know about restarting after installing dml fix. This mission is very short, so I restarted on first 2 difficulties few times. And I remember in Stowaway after I posted that new dml fix doesn't work, I uninstalled this mission. But few minutes decided to create dml from beginning, so I installed FM and then created from the very beginning. Maybe I'm using older version of FMSel or it's just like you say - Tafferpatcher may not be very compatible with dml fixes. But if I install dml fixes just after installing missions, but before playing them, dml fixes work normally.

Sounds like it could be Tafferpatch then as there is no other obvious reason, but so long as you are aware of this issue it shouldn't be too much extra effort to make sure your dml's work first time.
Anyway have updated the dml. Talismans are now hidden when playing on Assassin + Imposter and various misplaced objects are fixed (paintings+tiara)
The noble man standing inside the chair is due to the fact the sound propagation in this mission is terrible, if you go into Dromed at the start of the mission he's sitting on the chair, but obviously he is put into an alert status when he hears you moving around the mansion, sadly we can't fix sound propagation issues but maybe Jax can lower his alert status in some way, or even make him deaf (blackjacks work well) :ebil:

Wait, isn't it modifying mission too much? I mean making mission work and fixed some bugs is all right, but I think placing them in different spots just because you want them to be harder to find is too much. Remember when you didn't like voodoo47 fix in Escape from Guilesatpeak (Shadow of Doubt).I'm talking about changing splinter into nail discussion that happened not long time ago. I think the situation is very similar and asking author of this FM for permission would be a good idea.

We haven't changed a design factor of this mission, just made invisible items that the author would have placed in a blue room. Don't forget this mission was an unfinished mission anyway, the author intended to fully furnish the mansion, place more guards and flesh it out massively but RL got in the way. I have no doubt the author would have removed these Talismans if he had finished this mission.
Another example of what we do regularly is place invisible fences on top of walls when with ND you can mantle over that wall and climb out of the map that you couldn't mantle over in Olddark. In other missions you sometimes see rogue switches floating in the air, again because the author forgot to place that item in a blue room. We move items that are in the wrong position such as the tiara in this mission and a number of paintings, in others we move bookcases up against the wall etc, AI's standing on desks etc
Bottom line we only fix things that we are 99% sure the author didn't intend. We hide rogue items and move misplaced objects to make the mission look clean and slicker, but never actually change something because we think this item looks better than the item that the author originally choose. We only do things if we believe it was an error or oversight on the authors behalf or because ND itself has effected the mission.
Similarly we do not make things easier in the game play unless we can see that the author clearly made a mistake or did not know what he was doing.
An example of this is a purse in a footlocker in mission 1 of Nightwatch which is a nightmare to frob, but Fidcal clearly altered the physics of the footlocker, presumably to stop people frobbing the purse through the side of the footlocker, but as we couldn't be sure that he didn't change the physics in order to make frobbing the purse almost impossible, we didn't fix that purse.
I agree it's a fine line sometimes and we may sometimes unintentionally cross that fine line but I've never known an author to place 4 objective items in clear view that were not required for that mission or difficulty.

True. But if you were Talismans owner wouldn't you prefer to have all Talismans in one place instead of running through whole mansion to gather them all? In real life they would be stored in well secured vault, unless owner is naive and prefer to have most valuable artifacts very close to him.

If I was a Talismans owner the first thing I would do is sell them, all that ever happens if you own Talismans is some thief or other undesirable starts ransacking your house, kills all your guards, knocks the brains out of your beloveds and more often or not the chances are The Trickster's hiding in your basement.
No thanks, they're more grief than they are worth. :p
