Hello!
I used to play fanmissions with Darkloader for a long time but people say that it's very old and that there could be problems with new fms.
Now I'm playing with FM Selector (got both Thief 1 and 2 and installed newdark and tfix 1.27) but I have a very beginner question. When I doubleclick the !fmselect-file I see all my fanmissions for Thief 1 and 2 but fmselect thinks EVERY mission displayed is for Thief 1 and tries to start them in Thief 1 when i doubleclick on a Thief 2-fm. Now I changed the cam_mod.ini in the Thief 2-directory so that Thief 2 fanmissions work now but it's a little bit laborious. Good old Darkloader always knew for which game a fanmission was. Before I try other loaders like Newdarkloader or Angelloader I wanted to know if FM Selector can start the correct thief-game by just doubleclicking a fanmission in FMSel.

FM Selector is a Thief installation specific, so it will always launch the FM for the specific game you're running it with.
So, you need to simply remove the comment in the ;fm line in cam_mod.ini for each of the Thief games, run Thief.exe for each of the games respectively and point FM Selector to the directory with zips for each game separately. In other words - do not mix them.
If you want the experience similar to the old DarkLoader, then get the NewDarkLoader or AngelLoader.

AngelLoader will give you a much closer experience to DarkLoader. In fact, it does everything DarkLoader did and more, but with the modern and less problematic backend of FMSel.
NewDarkLoader looks a little more like DarkLoader, but it still works like FMSel in that you'll have different installs for the different games. Also, its author has stopped developing NewDarkLoader and repeatedly encouraged people to switch to AngelLoader.
With AngelLoader, you can also manage and load fan missions for Thief 3 and The Dark Mod, so you can manage and play all the community's content in one convenient interface. It also makes it much easier to manage mods for each fan mission and troubleshoot problems.
