If I'm recalling correctly there was a mission based this person's actual apartment. You rummaged through their belongings to learn some Secret or something. It wasn't very good so I don't remember much besides the odd premise.

Yes, Zontik's "King's Story" features a recreated Castle Neuschwanstein. In the first mission, the player approaches it, in the second one, he/she does the actual task.

The wonderful cathedral in Frobber's Keeper of the Prophesies series was based on Chartres cathedral, I believe.

I'm still learning my way around the FM builder software (I'm a bit of a dinosaur and don't have masses of time to sit at the PC) but I'd love to be able to create a level that is based on Notre Dame, with suitable Hammerite overtones of course.

"CNSD, the game" by Leconbras was based on a real life brazilian school of the same name (Colégio Nossa Senhora das Dores). This is a fairly common school name, but the specific one is from São Paulo.
The FM was removed from most public sites due to incident with the author's family, sadly it made the author feel guilt over publishing his work and maintaining it up on the internet kept reminding him of real life. A damn shame, as it was a REALLY well done mission with custom voices, art, even in-game cutscenes. But considering the circunstances, i can tottaly understand him.
Cardia made one particular mission thats a recreation of portuguese art museum, altho i forgot the name of it.
