We'll sort something out for the problem missions - they can have a link to this thread or similar. I'll have a look through tomorrow.

Mineshock by JIS...crashes at the start if playing via FMsel, but works OK via Darkloader....???
I just tried this one, and it crashes regardless of whether I try it through FMsel or darkloader (using TG patched up with TFix 1.19i). Though darkloader it sometimes gets a bit further, but it crashes through either.

that sounds like something being screwed up with the mission itself (it's definitely not the extra resources, as removing those will not change anything). I will check whether it loads under oldDark later. I believe I have seen something similar before here on TTLG - basically, the author doing something really unsupported (some odd crystal objects I think? //(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140686&highlight=primitives) yeah), and it sort of worked in oldDark because the engine was buggy and was letting it slip by. NewDark is not so forgiving - you do bad stuff, the mission will not work.

Azaran,
Did you work the switch behind the door before you tried the book trigger? It was a double switch you had to work to get the secret passage to open.
I'll have to look at why the opening sequence didn't run right. There's an invisible spider stuck in the door, which the AI attack to open the door. Maybe they can't see it in NewDark?

That's unfortunate to hear. :erg: Does that mean that book triggers don't work? or just that specific mission's triggers?

I have another mission that doesn't get along with New Dark. Mission 2 of the Shadows of Doubt Campaign,Tears of Blood.
Its impossible to make it out the first part since just seconds into the mission one of the other prisoners starts going nuts which puts the Hammerite Guard on alert which fails the mission automatically on Master difficulty and makes it impossible to get out the corridor with all the cells with out him seeing you and going nuts.
It must be due to the AI's increased sensitivity that I've noticed in both Thief Gold and 2.They've become way more sensitive to stuff that they wouldn't of notice back in Old Dark. For example if the there are two guard patrolling one behind the other back in Old Dark you could KO both guards just fine whereas now when you knock out 1 the other instantly third alerts.
I have no clue what is setting off the prisoner and thus the Hammerite since I am hiding in the darkness in the cell nor am I making lots of noise so their is nothing going on that should alert them.

@ Maxrebo6
if i remember correctly there were a few issues with the SoD series even b4 Newdark came out, Tears of Blood was 'upgraded'
and a no of bugs removed and re-released in the Journey pack.....((
http://www.thiefmissions.com/m/journey)) i recently played the whole series, but i downloaded the individual missions...(
http://thiefmissions.com/) and Tears of blood worked fine for me but i only played on Tyro difficulty....could be worth checking out either of these 2 zips to see if your issues are still there

Sorry if this is out of line, but I've discovered a New Dark issue in the TG mission Amida by JIS. The final door that is opened with the house key does not open when using New Dark. The lock makes the unlocking sound but the door appears to be stuck in place. I tried it using Old Dark and the door opens. It's kind of weird the way this door moves.
Here's a quicksave if anyone wants to take a look:

I think we really need an online public spreadsheet listing all problematic FMs with columns as such: 'T1/TG/T2' / 'FM name' / 'Author' / 'Confirmed' (at least two people to confirm + version of newdark used for confirmation) / 'Description of the issue' / 'How to fix' / 'Author of the fix' / 'DL link of the newdark compatible version' / 'Comments' (so that we can put a disclaimer if the original author doesn't want a fix). I need to go for the day but I could do that tonight, that would surely help focus the effort.

I'm not sure if this is a New Dark issue, but I've just finished playing a TG mission called Deadly Darkness. My current installations of T1 and T2 are fairly new, and I have patched them with the latest versions (I think, unsure how to tell) of TFix and Tafferpatch, and launch FMs with FM Sel.
In this particular FM some, but only some, of the AI are deformed. Their body parts are scrunched up into a small ball that moves around at ground level. It seems to be some of the archers and mages who are affected, other AIs are normal. Does anyone know a remedy for this in case it happens again?
BTW I have searched Tafferpatch, TFix and New Dark threads, but can't find an explanation.

this happens when the model's .cal file is missing, if I remember correctly. should not be a NewDark specific issue, if the files are missing, oldDark will not load them either.
the thing with the AIs being too sensitive can be fixed - TFix already has everything ready, but the script-t1 script needs to be loaded into the FM map manually (open the map in Dromed, type script_load script-t1 into the command window in the lower right corner, press enter, save the mission). unfortunately, scripts cannot be loaded via dmls. //and now they can.
