Currently playing "shadow on the water". Great mission. I highly doubt it has anything to do with my issues, most probably just bad luck.
"Windows 10 foreva" reminds me to check out if linux brew works for thief, I think i saw a thread mentioning it. The only thing I need windows for on my laptop is playing old games like thief. I am really annoyed with win11 at this point for several other reasons.

I'm playing Thief and Thief 2 on Linux frequently (with FMSel, and with the same installation I use in Windows as well) since about 2019 with Wine, and it usually works quite well. On Linux, the game uses the US keyboard layout instead of the german one, and in very rare cases some problems come up that are not there when playing with Windows, but otherwise it went well on modern computers. AngelLoader or NewDarkLoader might not work, however, as these need the .NET framework, which I could neither get to run on Linux, nor did any replacement for .NET work in my case.
My game is the ancient CD version, though, or a somewhat modernized CD/DVD-less version from 2013, and not the more modern GOG version. I have no experience with the latter.
