I'm trying to run some fan mods for T3. I load them up using FMSEL, no problems. Save works and can reload, while in the same session. However, if I save a game and return to play later, after closing T3. I cannot reload the save. Looks like files are saving to Users\Public\My Documents\Thief...so moved to my specific User Folder, still no luck...
Just seems weird that loading saved games works until I close the game. Is it possible that the files are over-written when I re-start from FMSEL?
I've searched the forums without luck, though it was useful in locating the saved game files...
Thanks,
Fin

Some more info is needed:
* Which version of the game
* Which version of the Sneaky Upgrade
* The path to the game installation
* The FM installation path. You can open this through the SU program menu group. (Local Folders)
* The value of the IgnoreSavesKey option in SneakyOptions.ini. (Find it through Local Folders as well)
* Does the original game work as it should?
(I should really make the game log this stuff.)
Normally savegames for FMs are saved in a subfolder of the FM itself, so while you have the main FM installation folder open, check if the FMs there have a SaveGames folder, and if it contains any savegames.

Gave Version: SOV 3.3
Sneaky Upgrade: Version 1.1.4
Game Installation Path: Program Files (x86)\Thief - Deadly Shadows
FM Installation path: Program Files (x86)\Thief - Deadly Shadows\FM
IgnoreSavesKey Value: Ignore Saves=True
Original Game working?: Yes, works fine opens to the tutorial mission
I'll toggle the ignore saves game to False and using sneaky tweaks and see what happens.
Thanks,
Fin

Used sneaky tweaker change settings, Ingore saves was updated to "False", still not loading once I leave the game...

Thanks, tomorrow I'll see if I can reproduce it.
SOV is the Sold Out version?
I'd forgotten the IgnoreSavesKey setting was exposed in the tweaker. In that case, leave it at the tweaker's default (disabled).
In the original game you can save and quit and restart, and find your savegames from last time?

I forgot to ask about your Windows version but on 8.1 your setup actually works (using the original DVD version, not Sold Out). But it must be a permissions problem from having the FM installation folder inside Program Files. On my machine the FMs and their saves will go into the VirtualStore, you can try looking there (C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore)
The installer has an option for selecting the path for FM installation. If you'd used that, the installer would not have allowed the path you're using, so you must have changed it manually in SneakyOptions.ini?
If you want to keep the game in Program Files, then move the FM folder to a neutral location, such as C:\Games\FM. Or move the entire game to C:\Games, in which case the FM folder can stay inside it. In either case, change the FM install path in SneakyOptions.ini accordingly.

I used the beta from your link (took me to another post with another link to the download). I also moved everything Game and FM files to c:\games\thief...
nothing seems to work...probably something to do with the sold out version...
Also tried manually moving save game files around, game just can't seem to locate them.
Probably just going to move on at this point....Thanks for trying though.

I'm concerned that it's not the Sold Out version but that the bugfixes in 1.1.4.1 don't cover all cases. Would you mind holding on to your installation for a while? I'll make another beta with some extra logging to see what's going on. Unfortunately I don't have time until the middle of January.
Also, have you checked if it makes a difference whether the T3 Gold mod is enabled or not?

I've tried it now with T3 Gold mod enabled, it didn't make any difference.
Also noticed in the beta that I can't find Ingore Save Toggle in the tool, have to go to the configuration file to change it...made it false then true, either setting didn't matter.
The save games are writing to the User\Public\Public Documents path. I tried copying into My Documents, with an identical path and saved game folder structure, didn't work. Also tried this in the Games\Thief folders, also didn't work...It's odd that you can load a saved game so long as you do not exit the program...
Also I'm in Windows 7 home premium...
I'm fine leaving the install alone until you have time to look at it (take your time, I'm in no rush, I'm starting "Deus Ex Human Revolution" now, yeah I'm way behind..... May need to reinstall anyways, given all the tweaking and file moving I did...
