My system won't run that card, I only have a slim case and wimpy 250W power supply. But maybe one day I'll get a bigger case and PS and can get one of these bad boys to put in it.

Fog works on the new HD5870, might have to find a better game profile manager though, as the catalyst profile manager is shite compared to nVidia's
Does it work normally - no menu quite issues? Have you tried it or someone told you? The new beta drivers have extended fixes for the HD5870. I will wait for the new official drives to come out and try them with the HD 4870 and after that I'll try reverting to some older ones.

Can anyone get fog running on Intel GMA chips? A GMA 945 to be exact?

its seems it only works on some intel chipsets if at all. I think you might have to force fog via a hack etc
I've searched TTLG forums for a solution to run fog on Intel integrated cards but found noting. DDfix seems not to solve this. I even tried (
http://www.tommti-systems.de/go.html?http://www.tommti-systems.com/main-Dateien/files.html) 3d analyze, but it didn't help though.
I own laptop, so upgrade is not the case. I know that
Zontik somehow has fog on his brand new laptop with integrated intel VC, but it seems more like a gift of fortune for the great contributors to the Thief community than a technical issue.
Thank you.

Requires less power than my old GTX280 would you believe as it only has 2x 6pin power connectors, And it idles at 27w...:wot:

Wow, if there's a low profile version I might actually be able to get one in my current machine!

That is very interesting. I am currently running 9.8 so I will try the new ones. As I mentioned in the Vista FAQ thread, I have the "exit to menu no fog issue" and I have had it for quite some time, but was able to fix it somehow 2 Vista reinstalls back. I'd like to solve the issue and post a solution for all to enjoy.
BTW You can check your Catalyst version in its information center tab.

well the version listed under 'about' is - 2009.1006.2142.37119, so what version am I running on my HD5870..?
[EDIT] Im running 9.10 and I'm running the x64 version of windows 7
mudi on 23/10/2009 at 19:16
OK, I'll update to 9.10 and see what happens on my HD4550 then. It sounds like the dark mod works better with 9.10 anyway...

Damn you, Intel mobile chipset! :p
When I got TMA originally the computer I used ran fog no problem. I got rid of that desktop after about a month of play I bought my laptop which never ran fog. Neither does this one which I bought last year. I'd love to be able to not see the edges of the map in Kidnap. But until I buy my next desktop, I live my life without fog in Thief. It's a dreary existence...
I keep my fingers crossed for a patch for my crappy built in graphics card. Until that day, my prayers to the Master Builder go unanswered :erg:
mudi on 24/10/2009 at 05:37
The fog isn't fixed in Catalyst 9.10 on my HD4550. Must be either a setting I'm missing or a card-specific thing. :erg:
Still only fog until I look at a readable. Oh well.
