Wonder how they will handle traveling in the next fallout? Perhaps a combination of clicking on a map and Shank's pony ala oblivion. Although perhaps walking across a flat dead plain would get tiresome after a while :) Would be sweet to burn across one in a mad max style vehicle, though.

Was that the one where each and every alien trudged in from the left, noticed you, and then trudged forwards while you frantically tried to cap it before it dribbled you to death?
Yup.
There isn't enough tension in games these days. Save anywhere has wrecked it. The save patch for AvP1 was the most retarded patch ever. EVER.

Oh, do get bent.

I'm sure you're being ironic. That game, at least the marine campaign, was extremely difficult to finish without at least one little save in a mission. But nobody forced you to save in the first place. How many times you have been through Tyrargo on Director's Cut to play a wise guy, huh, huh?
I dared just once and I had enough.

AvP was incredibly hard.
But know this.
I finished the AvP Marine demo without actually seeing enemies. I played it on a computer without a 3D card so the levels and weapons would load, but not the enemy models. Thank God for the motion detector and sound effects. I could still see the acid blood though.

Yeah, I remember that. I spent so much time searching for info and such. They even put out a few videos, if I'm not wrong. What was it called again?

The canceled PS2 shooter was called Aliens Colonial Marines.
Alien Versus Predator on the Jaguar was very good as well. I wouldn't hold out much hope for the AvP franchise though, even with a reasonably competent developer like Gearbox onboard.

No, I'm really not.
The game was hard, granted, but the tension in that game was incredible. I've not experienced anything like it before or since. And it applies to whichever species you were playing.
The problem with the patch was you could save multiple times. I'll admit I installed it but I thought that anyone who would make a game with such a great tension pull would be prudent and make it easier but not pointlessly so. In other words I thought there would be limited saves (1 or 2 per level, which I would have used).
But no - they just wrecked it. You can whittle on about self-control all you want; nothing works like pure lack of feature.
FYI - I am a peripheral member of The Dark Mod team (more peripheral as the days go by) and there have been some long discussions (arguments?) about implementing limited saves as a tension giver. I don't know the state of play now though - I think it's optional for modders.

I cant believe the mothers of all film licences have had so little justice done to them in games.
The last good Robocop game was the original side scrolling arcade machine "coming"
Predator? that would have been AMAZING in the vietcong engine "jeez you got a big pussy"
Terminator in the vice city engine or the warriors grittier version of that? just you and the T800 racing about that sandbox world to reach sarah conner.
Aliens has had sooo many games, SEGA are only in this for the money, aliens is always going to sell by the bucket load .
