This looks horrible. Well, maybe they're making a statement of gameplay over graphics, but it just looks awful. Alice had a stylistic charm to its look. This is just ugly.
It's it also a little odd that they're boasting about making 'dreary' fairy tales which were already pretty dark and twisted to begin with, only to get happy'd up by Disney or somesuch? So it's dreary stories that were made happy and your job is to make them dreary again? Huh?
Too bad. I liked Alice alot.

Hmmm, don't know what to think. I'll still keep an eye on it, no where near what Alice was. I enjoyed Alice as well. Too kiddie like for me. Alice was nice and dark.

Alice only held my attention for the first few levels, then it started feeling like something churned out by the Platform-o-matic machine. The atmosphere rocked - I just wanted to stand around in it, but the gameplay was meh.
I think American McGee is one of those Jon Romero types - overhyped and overpaid. Alice was good for it's time, but have you played Scrapland? What a turd. He's just never been that consistent to me, so I approach each release of his with great trepidation.
