I'm not a Dromeditor, but I appreciate what every single one of you out there manage to produce: New and Shiny Fan Missions
But how long will this continue? Is it an ongoing neverending fact that eager imaginative young (or old) thief players can't keep their hands off the keyboard, in their need to create unexplored worlds (without pay) for the rest of us to dig into and enjoy like a fly on a minutefresh cowdung? It is!? ... Oh really...how magnificent!! :D
A new gamer that has just discovered the Thief world could almost get seriously scared witnessing the 300-400 fan missions that exist. 'I love this game, but is it worth sacrificing the rest of my life to finish all these beautiful missions?' could be his immediate thoughts. YES of course it is! That is until something better comes along...like a wife and kids...then your priorities change somewhat. But Thief won't get mad and slap you in the face and make threats about divorce. Will it cheat on you? No. It'll just sit there and wait...and wait...patiently...until suddenly one day you realize that you have some time to spare. Of course Thief won't make sweet passionate love to you...but close enough!
(I may sound mad...come to think of it I may be :weird: )
How many fan mission will we end up with? A thousand? Five thousand? One million?? :eww:
And will people still create missions ten or twenty years from now?

Comon, someone has got to know this!!

Not for long. All FM authors will stop making missions in 2 days, 7 hours, 23 minutes. I know, I've asked them.

The numbers will slowly dwindle, probably almost completely drying up in about 2 to 4 years. If we get an editor for Thief 3, that figure will accelerate down to 1 to 2 years I think.

Of course, if a T3 editor comes out, we'll start getting a lot of T3 missions.
I want to work on some FMs, but who knows if I'll ever finish any.

The number of fan missions will increase...uh, I dunno...ten, no twenty-fold when the Dark Mod for Doom 3 is released.....because it's so COOOOL!!!!!

Alright, maybe that was an exaggeration...

I've got a Fan Mission all sketched out on paper and ready to go. But I'm reluctant as hell to start with Drom Ed just in case T3ed is around the corner. Bummer.
What was that URL again Fingernail, I forgot to write it down ;)

The number of new FMs seems to have its highs and lows though. But they never fail to pop up in chunks when you least expect it. Used to play a couple each week, but stopped when going for Supreme TG while also making a walkthrough site. Since the time I started at it about 50 new missions have been released.

Wife and kids coming first than Thief missions? Maybe for you, but not for me. I am a huge fan... and a huge fan is a huge fan, as you surely know. When I am sitting for playing Thief missions, everything/everyone else are secondary. Oh yes, I am crazy, but sincere at least.
