DromEd has a Doomsday many decades from now. Somewhere in the caverns of these Forums there is a ancient thread predicting this. That is the truth! Unfortantly I can remeber the name of the thread or when it was written. Maybe the author of that very thread will be this and say. Until that time Thief Fan Missions will continue in all shapes and sizes!

Well, first of all, don't forget that many of us (Thief fans and DromEders) already have wives and children. And that doesn't stop us from making great FMs.
I can't speak for all of us, but I will CERTAINLY be doing something with DromEd for many, many years. Until my eyes turn blind, probably.

Well, Klatremus, I'm NOT as unoptimistic as all the other Taffers, who replied! :tsktsk:
I think the FM's will keep on coming and will "overrule" the original games.
The're GREAT BTW. The original games, I mean. No doubt about that! and they'll always keep the original Thief-pattern in them!
But I also must say that some Taffers out there have such cababillities to create a storyline, that these FM's will always be an option.
I'm greatfull for that, since we all had to wait several years for T3 to come out.
I had to get used to T3, the gameplaying I mean, but after a while, I really could see the "upgrade" of the Thief-game.
So: Hang in there and keep on trying! At some point this'll all make sense and THEN it gets to be: WOW!!!!! :joke: :thumb: :ebil:
Good luck playing Taffer ........ :thumb:

How long will new Fan Missions be made?
For ever, and Ever, and EVER, and EVER, and EVER, and EVER, and EVER, and EVER, and EVER.
It's the simple beliefs that inspire faith.

There is, of course, the problem that Thief 2 is becoming more and more difficult to run on modern machines - for instance there have already been problems with hyper-threading and problems with DX9.

Heretic. :grr:

If one is fanatical enough about it, one will of course maintain a Win98 DX7 machine which runs T2 just fine.

Alright, maybe that was an exaggeration...
I take it my cathedral sketch wasn't what you were looking for...

No, your cathedral sketch was great, but most of the concept art isn't going up on the website. Right now it seems that Springheel is just posting character art and models.

This isn't just a problem with Thief. But by the time modern PCs wont run Thief at all, I'm confident that we'll have capable emulators available. There just hasn't been much demand for them until very recently.
