I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this, but if the fear factor of Haunts has somehow worn off for you, this might be interesting.

It's called Marble Hornets, and it hasn't been mentioned much on TTLG, so I thought I might bring it up.
The first-person aspect makes for a somewhat Thiefy feel. The mystery of the videos kind of sent the same vibe.
Anyways, hope this is a good place for this.
Not being any sort of brave (I could barely stomach Thief zombies until recently) I watched up to the 16th video before I had to stop. I freaked myself out pretty bad and got three hours of sleep the next night, during which I had to have cheery music playing and my bedside lamp was on.

Are you serious? Those videos are just a load of baloney to say the least! "Wow, some guy in a suit [probably an actor] looked in my window... so creepy!"
It's just a visual fictional story you dumbass!

Fictional story published and promoted in the viral/blairwitch fashion with some "mysterious" story concerning the creator attached !
Scary? Not so much....

"Baloney" or not, I think it was creepy. And I only watched the first video (I probably won't watch the others)

it's starts off good and subtle before it completely derails into a parody imo. especially when clown guy appears. still a nice distraction, thx for the link.

Of course it's not real. Does that mean I shouldn't be scared when I play a scary game?
The videos where he's running around in the park or such break the effect, but the one where he's walking around in the house really gave me the creeps, even though nothing really happened.
I guess if you're not as much of a coward and walk in with your skeptical face on, it's not scary. However, it frightened me to death.

Hah! That was probably the worst part for me.
I think what really set me off is when there were faces outside of windows. I couldn't look out of a window or walk around in my house in the dark after that.

I like the one with the hands. I also like the one with the news report, where each time the reporter mentions the name of the town, or the name of any official, there's a sudden burst of static noise.

An amateur attempt to do what Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity did, but unfortunately cherry picking concepts from both with calling it your own makes for a boring production. Took WAY too long to develop and was horribly cheesy and predictable, imho.
Edit - granted if you haven't seen blair witch this may actually be new and creepy.

Ah well, I suppose that's why my sister finds it more interesting than scary.
Guess I'll let the subject die :joke:

I saw Blair Witch. I'm 100% on board with the concept, but 0% on board with the execution - I didn't find it the least bit scary. Is Paranormal Activity a similar sort of thing, only good? That would be pretty sweet.
