If the fear factor of Haunts has worn off, I suggest playing the Ink and Dust FM, and going into the Dark Zone. If you haven't played it, I guarantee you'll be scared.
As for these videos, I've watched just a few snippets, but I do like the feel. The sound is indeed very Thiefy....

I saw Blair Witch. I'm 100% on board with the concept, but 0% on board with the execution - I didn't find it the least bit scary. Is Paranormal Activity a similar sort of thing, only good? That would be pretty sweet.
Actually I haven't seen Paranormal Activity but I've heard a lot about it (including spoilers). I actually saw Blair Witch for the first time a few months after the release of P.A. due to the likening of it to Blair Witch by reviewers. So yes, it is conceptually very close but supposedly one of the "scariest movies of all time" according to many reviewers.

TheGrimSmile, have you seen The Ring? Those youtube videos have a similar idea; a ghost video virus. That's such a cool concept - a supernatural destructive meme that spreads and spreads - and The Ring does it justice. I've seen all the different versions (and most sequels), and I actually prefer the American remake, for once. So eerie and surreal, like The Twilight Zone.

Just saw Paranormal Activity. Pretty good. Not amazing, but way better than Blair Witch. I like the idea that trying to solve a ghost problem is like picking at a scab. The best thing to do is ignore it and leave it alone, because ghosts feed on attention and "negative energy" and anything you do will only encourage it to fuck with you more.

A bit like an over-excited puppy.

Ha, for the first 3/4 of the movie, I was thinking, "This ghost hasn't done anything worse than my cat. Why are they so scared? Just think of it as a pet."
Then in the last 1/4, I had to start thinking of it as a pet tiger; if it gets too excited, it can injure or kill you.
