I'll try to buy it on 12th June. But I might not play it straight away because Brianetta's (
http://www.egosoft.com/) X²: The Threat has just completely grabbed my attention.

To all the people complaining about having to upgrade for Thief 3 - poor widdle diddums :P
Every other newly released commercial game asks for very high system specs - why should you be treating Thief any differently?
Game development starts years before the game itself is released, so it has to be targeted on "theoretical" systems that don't exist yet, so it'll be up to everyone's expectations by the time it's released.

I should play through TMA first. And there is still a mission in Thief Gold I never played.

To all those people in Europe and other parts of the world I'd recommend buying from Strategic Plus. I ordered my copy from them and payed for next day delivery, totalling £40. They shipped it on the day they recieved copies(1st June) and I got it the next day. I've been happily playing it since. Obviously some of you might consider it too late to order now as the game will be out in a few days here in the UK, but I just thought you might want to keep it in my mind for any future purchases.

(
www.play.com) is selling it for £18, free shipping.
You'll have to wait for the european launch though.

1. Requires XP - not interested, too vulnerable.
2. Requires graphics card upgrade - would do except for #1.
Maybe I'll get an x-box someday, it's cheaper!
More likely it'll be a bargain bin purchase years from now after I finally upgrade my computer.
They better hope is sells hugely on x-box because they have missed the sweetspot in terms of the PC market.

This is for everyone who hasn't heard of this fix yet.
XP is NOT required to run Thief Deadly Shadows.
This fix has been available for several months. It's posted on the Eidosgames forums.
1 Download PE Explorer
2 Backup "T3Main.exe" and "Default.ini" for patching puposes
3 Apply any patches
4 Open PE Explorer
5 Go to File > Open File > "T3Main.exe"
6 Go to View > Resources
7 Select Icon Entry and delete it
8 Save and exit
9 Open "Default.ini"
10 Find the line "LoadFromResourceBlockFiles=False" and change it to "True"*
11 Save and exit
12 Enjoy game
Now, tell everyone about this fix and get them buying the game so we can get our level editor. :)
I dual boot and Thief 3 works just as well as it does on XP. Pretty sweet. Now go out, buy the game...and enjoy it already!!!! *L*

I did not buy Thief 3 because I thought the demo was crap. The movement feels like i've got two broken legs. I did not like the bugs in game and mapping was done sloppy, there are at least 5 locations in the first map where I can see the skybox. The guards shoulder pads are see through if you crouch near them. Garrets hands stop moving when you are picking the "sweet spot" but you hear the lock click open. And then there's the difficulty bug. How could they let this get through testing? :nono:
I'll wait for some more patches and an SDk if any.
