I translated "La fête du voleur" as well as "Klejnot Ghandaru" ("Jewel of Ghandar") to english and german, and even managed to fix some of the bugs in these two. I have just sent a PM to FireMage and an e-mail to BodomChild (I hope his(?) mail address is still valid and he/she is able to understand english), asking permission to publish the translated missions.
If the authors agree, I'd like to have someone play through both missions and check for anything odd that might have escaped my attention. With a bit of luck, nothing serious will show up, and two more missions will return to the community soon.
However, I'll be away from the computer for the next days, returning late on Wednesday, so you will most likely not hear anything from me until then.

Permission granted to the community! ;)
This mission has no value to me due to the lack of quality and the numerous bugs, but if you want to see some of my crazy beginner's experiments, this is a good mission to try. ;)
All new dromeders are welcome to open the .mis file to see how to do these effects.

Thanks FireMage and baeuchlein!
With respect to "Klejnot Ghandaru", the readme sounds like BodomChild does not even bother anyone to change the mission.
So, there should not be any obstacle to re-release it, I guess.
For sure I can take the time to test them.
When reading the posts in the thread for 'Klejnot Ghandaru' it seems like there might be a few known bugs around.
Or did we simply not understand what to do?
I recall some invisible loot in "La fête du voleur".
(A purse in the streets near a lamp post, another purse on a table, a couple of purses on AI's and a plate in some room)
Those items did not even have an icon in my inventory.Actually I liked that mission quite a lot, since it had some unique things
such as the tiny little squashable beetle/spider. :joke:
It is sad to realize that nobody 'borrowed' it for another mission up to now. :( Maybe the language barrier was too high to even look at the mission?
Anyway, I never understood why you dropped the mission, FireMage.
Time for a little update on the mission ? Just fixing the most obvious bugs, maybe. ;)
Those issues would be worth mentioning in the corresponding readmes.
FireMage on 5/2/2014 at 19:07
Héhé ^^
It's just because nobody ask for any updates so, I thunk that nobody was fond of it.
(And personnally, I prefer going forward and do more new missions than spending time with my old ones...)
*sigh* If I wasn't lack of time due to my studies as before, be sure that I would say "Ok, let's do this..." but now, I can see that it's pretty hard to Dromedit something... As I said many times, I really wish to redo ALL my old missions, fix the bugs, add new thing that I couldn't do/put because of the lack of experiment and the bugs, change their shape to make it MORE beautiful etc. but alas... Time is missing... If you want me to do that, I REALLY need help from an entire team!
About the invisible purse, I think that I know why such thing happen: The object'shape is absent.

Well, I guess that would call for someone having some experience with DomED.
Can't help with that.

Let me guess: it's not as simple as grabbing the missing file from some another mission, right?
FireMage on 5/2/2014 at 19:55
It was an original purse model which I changed the texture by editing the Bin file with an hexadecimal software to change the texture's name.
So, it is an object that you will not be able to find anywhere, but we can although replace it by any kind of purse. Check the mission's contain to know the purse's shape name, and do a copy of the orginial purse and rename it. ;)

Believe it or not, but that's exactly what I did even before you posted. ;)
Got a working copy for bowlgold.bin, lotpurc.bin and Books\hamplaq :cheeky:
Hmmm.... I just wonder if baeuchlein doesn't have similar resources already.
I seem to believe that he/she is not quite unfamilar with DromED, but I am not sure.
EDIT: reading the previous posts, baeuchlein said having fixed a couple of issues.
Anyway: I learned at least a tiny little bit.
However, I must say: DromED is really suitable only for ArchMages and will always remain black magic to me. :p
First I tried looking up the model, simply change the model name, apply it to all descendants and SAVE the mission.
But DromED does nothing at all. Not even the timestamp of the .mis or .gam file changes.
I wonder how one can get used to DromED without going nuts. :eww:
Weird crap! :joke:

I think we have applied similar fixes. I have taken the hamplaq resources from DromEd Deluxe, as well as other missing ones. For example, I noticed that in the original version of the mission, there was an invisible person inside the Hammerite church. Turned out there were some Hammer novice textures missing. There were some mute Hammers as well; inserting voice sets from Thief 1 (in all three languages) fixed that.
I was very lucky with the purses: I just changed the model name (I think) for one of the purses, and all of them (on the people's belts as well as in several other locations) appeared. (At least after I understood that I had to save the Gamesys to let the purses appear in the game as well.)
One purse to fix them all, One purse to find them,
One purse to grab them all and in my loot bag bind them,
In the Land of Garrett, where the treasures lie.:cheeky:
They're all standard Thief 2 purses now, but I think that's not a big drawback.
I missed that invisible golden plate/bowl, but with the help of gnartsch's picture I was able to find it. Actually, it had almost the same size as the kitchen and was lying to the right of where the player can grab the invisible thing. I have fixed that yesterday. Took a bit of time until it looked right.

Weird. Did you check whether DromEd saved these files somewhere else instead?
Do you know that you have to save the gamesys (.gam file)
separately? If you save the .mis file, the gamesys will not be changed in any way. (I needed three attempts with these purses to find it out.)

I was nuts before. Helps quite a lot.:ebil:
However, when I tested the mission again yesterday, I noticed that I still missed quite a bit of loot. I don't remember any invisible purse near
a lamp post
, so I guess I'll have to do a little walk in DromEd to check whether there are more strangely shaped objects scattered somewhere in the mission.
However, my DromEd abilities have limits. Currently, I can fix some little problems in missions, but not all of them. I cannot fix the lighting in "La fête du voleur", or the weird changes which appear once I let DromEd "optimize" the mission.
Anyway, it's playable now. It has some quirks (mentioned in the edited english and german info files), but if the player tolerates some of the not so perfect parts of the mission, it should provide a bit of entertainment.
Concerning "The Jewel of Ghandar", I also believe that the author declared that any copyright for the mission would be ridiculous, but I'll try to find out a bit about that later on. I think we should wait some days for a possible answer from BodomChild, and then we'll see.
I was able to fix the loot goal for Normal difficulty in "Ghandar", but couldn't fix the one for Expert. Instead, I mentioned a way for the player to get around the problem in the info file. It is, indeed, possible to get all objectives to tick off on Expert, you just have to do something that's not very logical.

Neither saving the mission nor the gamesys did anything.
None of the files are readonly and no new files was to be found anywhere on any disk.
It's beyond my imagination what the issue would be.
Oh, wait !!!
I think I know the problem:
DromEd decided that I had not collected enough XP points yet and did not unlock the 'Save Button Achievement' :joke:

I think you can safely forget about that one. I am almost sure this was a false memory.
I think I mixed that up with the destroyed purse - which was sticking in my mind.
Once you put the mission(s) up for test, I will check for loot, anyway. (Using 'The Tricksters Loot Locator', if I have to ;) )
