Rest assured that the improper behavior was indeed noticed.

I don't remember if I commented on Forgotten Forest, but I do remember the mission very well. In fact, I can still picture the layout of pretty much the entire thing. This mission is distinctly above average, in terms of both looks and fun factor. I found it challenging on expert and I enjoyed it so much that I can't get it out of my head even months after playing it. It's one of the best.
Oh, and it doesn't hurt that Bukary's cute. :joke:

Heyas,
First of all, great mission. After I decided to KO the guards because of a programming bug, the rest of the mission was good.
The AI error: when I aggroed any of the black-clad guards, they stayed on perma-aggro. If any of them saw me (not the low-level alerts where they may/may not investigate) and I escaped or hid until they went back to patrolling, even if I waited 10 mintues they still aggroed the moment I stepped into full visibility (out of any shadow). I did not even have to be in line of sight for this to happen. Buildings could be between me and them and they would run to the spot I was at. I did not even get into the house, and I'd almost quit out of frustration. If I were to have played for an hour or more, and then be spotted in a bad area and lost the ability to wait for them to calm down and forget, it would not be worth playing. But I decided to try one last time, knocked them out as needed, and found it good after that. When I'd almost given up, I had not found the key to the outdoor shed with the iron maiden in it, so I bashed the door open. I could not step into full light after that, anywhere at all.
Just to mention it, probably beacuse of translation issues, it was not real clear who lumberjack was. On the scroll that gives the objective for placement of the wine barrel, the wording led me to believe that there was a single lumberjack I had to look for, so I never got the idea where I needed to put the barrel. There are three guards and two pagans, so I did not pick up on what was meant. If I had read "in the lumberjacks' building", it would have made more sense to me that the pagans were timberers. *shrug* Also, there was no real reason given to do this from in-game character's viewpoints (clues, etc), just a note that said "I said no drinking", and that is outside of Garrett's character to do 'just because'.
I also used both my holy waters on haunts in other areas, to avoid hassle after I had tho't I was done but still poking around, and before I had used some on Constance. I had just knocked her down with my sword, and could not move her into her grave, and never tho't more of it. I will prolly go put the parts from the shed with the 'key to ??' in her tomb, instead of replaying the whole mission, but it almost feels like there should be another way to finish this. There's no reason for another way to be given, but it seems like there are usually at least two ways to do most things in the Thief games, and I missed out on this. :-p
I just went back and hit Constance with holy water water arrows, and put the pieces (head and body) into her tomb. Nothing else happened. Some of the other people posting made it seem like this was needed. Is there something I missed, or is the whole thing just to put the candle on her tomb and not get hit when she appears?
Also, in the credits room, is there a reason to ring the bell? Or is it just symbolic of credit due/recognition/etc?
Thanks for the mission! Is there a part 2 yet?

[tinny voice:] Every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings.

Is there supposed to be something that happens when the parts are put in? (See above post by me.) Also, on one of the tombs, there is a plaque that reads, "If you call me I will come, but don't call me, as I am resting 'cuz I am dead tired", or something similar. Is there more to this, other than the obvious joke? I could not figure out how to use anything I was carrying on it.
I also somehow picked up a chisel, I don't know where from 'cuz a few of the sounds are messed up in it, and that was one of the things I did not 'hear' being picked up. Heh, there's a candle and also the first scroll you can pick up which sound like boulders when dropped. :-p

I just finished, about 500 short on loot. :) It has great atmosphere! The English translation was not perfect but good enough. Most switches were very well hidden (thanks for the clues in the book for some of them). Some people like looking for switches and some don't.
A few minor problems: A few switches were not visible even after I came here to read where they were. :erm: I also encountered some invisible walls near the starting area.
I am looking forward to part 2. :thumb:
Thanks,
Don

Jericho had not played the mission before he did the tranlsation and a little while after the mission was released and many complaints, he was going to redo them and let me proofread it but I haven't heard from him, I hope he is doing well. Real Life probably sucked him up, poor guy. :(

Wine objective
The first time I clicked on the message on the back of the bulletin board, I didn't pick up the paper. Instead I found myself reading the scroll. I read what was on it and it sounded like a copy of the scroll on the front. Turns out I was reading what was on the front of the bulletin board. I went back and stood at a sharp angle to the bulletin board, made sure it was the one on the back that was highlighting and only then did I pick up the scroll and get the objective. If you just run up and aren't careful, you can easily highlight the scrolls on the front of the board and not get the objective. Funny thing is I'm pretty sure it was the correct scroll that highlighted the first time.
Very pretty mission. Lots of fun and deeper than it looks. Objects and textures are exceptional. Texts are better than average. I'm surprised it's only rated a 7 at the circle. I'd give it a nine if it was only compared to other medium sized missions. Some of the translating could be better worded.

Because the sequel is almost ready for release (currently under translation) :thumb: I thought it's time to replay the first part again today to get back into the story.
Thanks Timon, I enjoyed your mission even more then 2 years ago. Expert was a lot more challenging. I had trouble finding all the hidden switches and the required amount of gold. And expert brings a lot more objectives to complete.
The house is well constructed with good textures and objects and has some nice additions.
Like the music you hear when
frobbing the flute on the table in the house.
It's beautiful. I believe I've heard it before somewhere, although a little different. It's Irish isn't it?
And putting
one of the letters between Alice and Bernard on Marucha's desk
is something I never expected Garrett to do. Such a bastard :cheeky: Although I've seen this kind of bonus objective implemented in more fanmissions, I didnt thought of the idea in this mission.
And the good old basketball ;)
The Tomb is really well made and larger then I expected. The new skeleton model is really frightening, the many gravesigns before the coffins are fun to read (the
Symbolic Grave of brother Tom Cruise. We hope his mission is not that impossible :cheeky:
is hilarious), and the coloured lightning and many spiderwebs (especially in the sewer tunnel) add a lot to the atmosphere.
You made a good mission with a bunch house and tomb, a nice story, plenty of extra objectives on expert, readables which tell you more about the place and events. Some cons: Too bad there is no fog and rain(which would really be a welcome addition to your mission) and that there is so little forrest to explore in your mission :p
I'm looking forward how it continues in the second part. For all the people who want to play the first part I say: now is the time, part 2 will be released soon! For more about the mission, visit Timon's (
