the thing about a lot of those c64 tunes, even though they probably influenced a lot of modern electronic music, was that they were emulating a live band, with basslines, drums, melody, just using the limited(but incredibly cool) sound palette of the 8 bit machines.

35 bucks! It does sound pretty cool though.
ok after listening to the demos it does sound very cool.

I want to get into writing music for games more after I'm settled in Lyon. This would be very cool for retro stuff.
Anyway, that's enough threadjack for me. I may have to fire up the C64 emulator at some point now :)

threadjack needs to be the name of a game.

The inherent with problem with Ghostbusters is pretty obvious:- they adapted an exciting action comedy film into A MANAGEMENT SIM.
I suppose that's actually original rather than most film adaptations of the day which were mediocre platformers where random fauna and all sorts of assorted wacky shit was trying to kill you.

I don't remember Ghostbusters being all that long on action though. I don't think they fire their proton packs except in the hotel with slimer and against Zuul.
Not like there's all that much to work with there, unless you want a game about Bill Murray trying to score with Sigourney Weaver. Which probably wouldn't sell. Well, maybe in Japan.

I just moved house and found a whole bunch of old C64 and Amiga games during the packing process, so this thread pleased me.
Sadly, I just had to throw most of them away due to space concerns, but the machines themselves I kept; C64, A1200, CDTV, CD32, C64GS, SX64.
