I've got a problem. I just upgraded my old 900Mhz AMD, GeForce 2 mx 400 system to a shiny new P4 2.0Ghz, Radeon 9800 PRO.
And havn't had a performance increase for Morrowind! :wot:
I'm using a fresh install, with the Atmospheric Sound Effects mod (All updates), and the MW Visual pack and Nature update.
Using these same mods, I was able to get about 15-20 FPS all around, and after upgrading, olny saw about a 5 FPS increase total.
Complete system specs are:
Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128Mb - Latest Drivers
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
512Mb PC-133 RAM
Western Digital 80Gb HDD
I also use the FSP optimizer, but I get a decrease in performance when using it.
Please help me!

Hahahhahaha. I'm not laughing at you, because that seems to be the norm for Morrowing.
Hahaha.

I doubt the video ram is what is causing the performance problems, as the pro boards are quite fast. However, the issue might be the system ram, because for a 2 Ghz machine, PC133 is rather slow.
However, Morrowind is notoriously badly optimized, so Tuco might actually have a point. You might, however, make sure there are as few background apps and processes running while you are playing, that will make difference. Also, you didn't end up with higher video settings during your install, did you? Having things like AA on will slow things down quite a bit, and they might be on by default or something.

Yeah, I've heard that PC-133 is pretty bad for gaming. I've also made sure to lower the AA settings on my video card.
*sigh*
Oh well, thanks anyway. (Time to get a new motherboard! :p )
