So is a lack of understanding film noir mutually exclusive with being anti-Semitic or not?

But it wasnt film noir, it was shitty writing. Is Alan Wake film noir too, lol? You're an idiot :)

Wait, are we talking about Max Payne here? If we are, I am firmly of the opinion that that game's writing was completely tongue-in-cheek.

No one claims otherwise. Except vurt.

yeah, and everyone refuses to answer if they think Alan Wake (same kind of over-the-top stupid/serious tone) is tongue in cheek as well (kind of strange in a horror game, no?), or could it be like i said from the very beginning ;)
I'm not sure why you had to bring this up in this thread, but it's not like you people are the smartest bunch i've ever encountered on a forum :P

Can't really comment as I haven't been following Alan Wake since it went Xbox-only.
As for the smartest bunch comment, we love you too.

As for Alan Wake, yes, it is tongue in cheek. Largely inspired by Twin Peaks, you know.
And your... original stance on Max Payne is the thing you are most well known here for, you know.

It was ages ago since i saw Twin Peaks, but i didnt find it tongue in cheek really, i don't find Stephen King or their other influences tongue in cheek either.
But i guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. And tongue in cheek in a game that tries to be scary, i don't know, kind of a paradoxal? I've never seen anyone else claiming it's supposed to be "funny".
