Most of Valve's designers fit that category, including Iikka Keranen.

You do realize this is a fan project, right? They're not being paid anything.
Internet - where everyone is always serious. Always.

Couldn't decide whether to make a new thread or just update an existing one, and this was the only relatively recent one that was specifically about Black Mesa Source, so I'll put it here.
Found out today that (
http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=2416) BMS has been delayed, again, missing their projected late 2009 release.
This statement, however, is promising:

And while we didn't quite make it, we have come very close, and you can expect a complete, polished game to hit your hard drives in the near future.
I was never expecting them to make it before 2010 anyway, so this is no skin off my nose. Seeing them come up with something by April would be nice, though.

Shame it's not ready yet, but I've long since mentally filed under the "I'll play it when its out" category. Expecting development teams with major funding to hit targets is tough enough, a volunteer effort that gets as far as this is impressive enough that a few months slippage is more than understandable.

Chris Vrenna wrote the theme song to Doom 3 after Reznor pulled out of the project. And on a side note, it's not a coincidence that the last good thing NIN ever did (the perfect drug EP) is the last thing that Vrenna co-wrote without getting any credit (i.e. the reason he left).
I basically agree with you, but just for the record Vrenna worked with Trent through 1999- up until the Things fall Apart EP (he's credited)- and Reznor did a really good job producing Antichrist Superstar - Manson's only good album.
The Fragile I think was Reznor's last decent record.

They sure have been already taking their time. I do hope that it's worth.

Well, they're surely following in Valve's footsteps :)
