From the cradle to the.... grave? - by theeviltritone

Ok, so I'm in the middle of my first run through TDS. Right now I'm in the cradle, and yes, there's some freaky shizzle going down.
But what I want to know is... after the cradle mission is over, how much more of the game is there? Am I 50% through, or what? There are still a number of unresolved plotlines, including:
lady elizabeth and her thugs, keeper artemus, the first keeper who is supposedly trying to track me down himself, etc.
.
All I want to know is, are these plotlines resolved or what? But please don't tell me how they are resolved.
Also, would someone be kind enough to tell me:
how do you kill those electric men? i shot one with two fire arrows and he went down -- i thought all was well but then he got back up (i yelped out loud in terror) and i had to hit him again. What's up with that? Can you kill/permanently incapacitate these guys or do you just have to ghost around them? Thanks.
You're a lot further along than you think. There's only one more mission after The Cradle. But lots of city sections, before and after that mission.
As to your questions about plot points:
Lady Elizabeth is done with; however you dealt with her on your approach to Stonemarket Plaza is final. Artemus will crop up again, as the story builds to a climax. I'm not sure what you're on about with the "first keeper looking for you". I could venture a guess, but you're so close to the end - all will be revealed soon.
The Cradle residents can be taken down permanently with multiple vials of holy water, flashbombs, fire arrows, or mines. How many you need to use depends on how alert they are to your presence, when attacked. So, that approach drains your inventory. Also, an empty Cradle is no fun - ghost, or distract them. You only have to deal with those fellas in about one-third of the overall mission.

Actually killing those electric men (patients) requires only one flask of holy water each (or one for several patients if you are lucky). Toss a flask of holy water on the ground and it will form a puddle of holy water. Attract the attention of a patient and have them charge you so that they will run into the puddle. They will be paralysed while it saps their hit points, then they will drop dead.
If you can find a couple of patients in close proximity you can lure a couple of them onto the puddle one at a time. The puddles wear off after a short time though.

That's where you're wrong, it's still scary after you take them down. those flickering lights, sound effects and the bodies of the puppets can make one very paranoid. I still get scared in the Outer cradle even though I know that there's no one there.
I guess I just don't like the idea of a puppet sneaking upon me:eek:

Ah. I do apologise, Andarthiel. After so many runthroughs, you tend to look at those guys as pets, and regard them as affectionately as one might a burrick.
Never fear, though, (

:laff:
But seriously I thought I got over my fear of the Cradle until I played it on Hard recently. I took down a puppet, thought it was dead but as soon as I got near it sprang up and screeched at me. Almost had a heart attack:eek:
it's the old zombie play dead trick.
