(this also means, if you crouch and shoot, you can destroy covers).
Another bit of useful info to know is that the CPU never does this. Meaning that as long as you keep your guys away from high walls they will be practically invulnerable to CPU rocketdudes. Useful tactic in those later SP levels.

but.. but...
Are you truly not simulating your turns before submitting them?
That's madness.
The cool people can simulate
and blow themselves up.

Turn 2: in which we discover that I don't have the patience for this :p.
I think I lost a unit in every game, and henke pulled off a turn 2 victory with a ludicrous shotgun charge which I should have seen coming after losing my own in the first turn :p. (Game 232137 if you want to see my ignominious defeat.)

Henke's having a field day getting his ass handed to him today. :D

guyssss
promise me you'll still be up for matches in a year when I finally can justify buying this

I just finished singleplayer, and the final mission was a bitch. (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHQh_ylRpNk) Here's me barely making it within the turn limit.
I thought the ending was unsatisfying and vague. I mean, you're him? Okay. Why? What happens next? Why's he cursing? Why does being a creature of the internet mean you can warp time and space?
The buildup was good though, but after Soulsby died it just focused on getting the missions over with instead of the story.Aerothorn, is this a question of time, or money?
Edit: just found a (
http://fs.error420.com/wiki/Shortcuts) page of shortcuts. I knew about the zones and line-of-sight testing already, but they're pretty well hidden if someone else doesn't tell you about them.
Shadowcat on 20/8/2011 at 23:28
It's all in the manual, so they're hardly "hidden" (although it is true that the in-game interface for reading the manual sucks, which doesn't help matters).
Jeshibu on 20/8/2011 at 23:42
Yeah, but the tutorial doesn't cover it, and it's not discoverable from the interface. These are bad things.
Also the zones in general. Very useful, but implemented very shoddily, with no preview of the rectangle you're drawing, no way to delete them after drawing (leading to loads of failed overlapping zones), and the fact that the opponent can apparently see them the next turn.
I bitch because I care.
