A previously working installation of FU95 crashes to desktop on a new computer, right when it's supposed to load the FBO. Since the FBO runs in 320×240, I assume this is the problem—FBO resolution too low to be supported by my video driver.
Any hope of ever getting this working? I want to fly it for the first time with a joystick. Otherwise, guess I'll have to try to get an old card up and running with it. My old Geforce 6800 Ultra worked, if I used an older driver. But I don't fancy trying to get my current big-ass video card in and out around all the hard disks it's nestled among.

Video drivers not supporting 320x240? Oh man, that's really depressing.
I don't have any suggestions offhand, other than to contact ATI and, if indeed that is the issue, ask them to please reinstate support for the old resolutions.
Or maybe there's something out there already? That'll be breaking masses of old games, so it should be easy to find some discussions. I'd be inclined to head over to vogons.zetafleet.com

Thanks, I'll check. 320×240 capability was dropped from both major GPU manufacturers' drivers some time ago, I believe. The reason most people probably haven't noticed is that DOSBox bypasses this for DOS games. It's only the Windows games running at 320×240 (what games? I can only think of this one, and that only in the FBO and option screens) that have a problem.
With my GeForce card, it loaded the FBO, just showed a black screen, with sounds running. I wasn't able to set options without seeing (and since FU95 doesn't save most options across sessions, I couldn't have thermals on, or advanced flight model, unless I rolled back my driver to see the FBO and option screens), just pressed T to travel, or Space to fly. My Radeon, perhaps through a less robust driver, won't even load the FBO.
I wonder whether there's an offset in the executable itself that hardcodes FBO (and option screens) resolution? Interesting thought. I'll check, but probably won't get lucky.
