Within A Deep Forest is wonderful.
Except that motherfucking cheese factory. And some of the crystal caverns. omfg

Leisure Suite Larry sounds like a good idea. I tried one of them a while back and liked it, but forgot all about it until now.

Looks like you've got a rather flexible definition for 'relaxing', Charles.
Heh, you could say that. With Riddick and the Stalker games it was easy to just kind of go my own slow pace when I wanted. Eternal Darkness might of just been soothing because it brought a lot of nostalgia with it. Reminded of playing Myst, 7th Guest, etc as a kid, and the magic system was interesting.
I did play Clear Sky (though can't finish it until my good computer is resurrected). I definitely like the gameplay more than the original for the reasons you pointed out, Malleus.

You'd probably like Silent Hill 2 plenty.
It's actually one of my favorites - but I can't call any Silent Hill game relaxing. Seems as I get older I can't handle certain games as well. Had to have my girlfriend around for moral support to play SH3 so I had someone to scream with, and to whine to when I didn't want to go down a hallway because it was dark or there was music playing.
I've already played Morrowind and Oblivion to death. They were really awesome, but they also inspired me to swear off such grind-tastic games :p Definitely agree on Psychonauts. The 'giant' level may have been my favorite.
I like the Crayon Physics demo, but do you think it's worth $20 for the full game?
Currently playing through cave story, but it seems to only grab my attention sporadically - definitely a good game, though. I'll try out Within a Deep Forest.
I'd like to try out Mass Effect, sounds like it could be a combo of what I like from KOTOR, plus a bit more 'gameplay.'
Giants Citizen Kabuto and Pirates! sound interesting.
As for the other suggestions, looks like a I need to get a PS2! I really want to finish Shadow of the Colossus anyway.

It seems like pretty much any adventure game would work(some can be frustrating without a walkthrough though).
Any of the LucasArts adventure games should be fine.

Lumines is a great one, so long as you don't get too caught up with high scores. Then it's fucking stressful!
But it's on Steam (and XBLA), and music and visuals are very soothing.

I found the blank graphics, soothing music, rain, and free wandering of (

Cholo to be relaxing.
(

Oasis is good for five to twenty minutes of simple, but not easy, strategy.
(

DrainStorm is a simple roguelike with the graphics of a Minesweep clone. That or
Nethack.
There's also a (

Puzzles Collection that generates logic puzzles based on your criteria; I recommend
netgame for something simple to start on.
I haven't done so yet, but eventually I will record, cut, and transcode an entire audio playthrough of the
Blade Runner adventure game and play it on nights where it needs to rain, but doesn't.
Then, there's
correspondence chess: sign up at queenalice.com or redhotpawn, start five games, and make your moves just before bed at night.
Finally, the empty funk music and free flight of
Pilotwings 64 has relaxed me now and then, ye gads, for ten years.

If you like that and have a Wii, then try out Endless Ocean (Forever Blue in Japan). Good music and lots of places to explore in a relaxing atmosphere.

I could play the PS2-era GTA's literally forever. Instant pick and play arcade fun in a sandbox open world. Such a shame that those qualities are pretty much all gone in GTA4,
Once I finished the story missions, I had zero inclination to revisit it. I'd rather just load up San Andreas, Vice City, or Vice/Liberty City Stories (PS2 ports) and mess about in those.
