Squeal like a little piggy--tell me who's your bacon daddy.

Give it up, B'Arts; Q is Incorrigible. ;) Besides, that method of attack works almost every time in Ghost Hunters.
Kind of.

@fett- Creepy. Some people... :tsktsk:
If this wasn't my finals week I'd try to check this thing out. Are any of you taffers going to attend?
BrokenArts on 26/5/2009 at 03:09
Well you have to *apply* for it first. No one here has said they are or not.

Darn, if I hadn't been working yesterday and today, I might have gone to those. It was probably a kidney-stealing operation though. I always assume anyone on CL who wants to meet in person wants to steal kidneys, until proven otherwise.
[EDIT: Doh, it's after midnight right now meaning the afternoon of the 27th hasn't happened yet. Could still conceivably go, but still going to be working during "late afternoon and evening." Crunch time.]
[RE-EDIT: 323 is an LA area code. What are the odds that two Bay Area Eidos employees would have LA cell phones? Unless those guys aren't local and are just coming in to run the focus group. Or subcontracted from some other firm, which kind of makes sense given their use of "the client" in their generic email to BA. My money's still on them releasing knockout gas in the room and proceeding to harvest organs.]

The website for Eidos in Redwood City is
(
http://www.eidosinteractive.com)
The website has a listing for 19 job openings, but no mention of any call for game testers or focus groups. The Redwood City branch is called Eidos Interactive but also has the sub title of Crystal Dynamics. Their job postings are available on their own site as well as sites such as LinkedIn, but there is no mention of focus groups.
Further, the contact email listed is a craigslist email, while people who work at Eidos have emails that end in @eidos.com. The HR email contact for Eidos is jobs@eidos.com.
This looks like a fake or a knock-off. If you still want to give it a shot, email the HR department and see if they can tell you if the group is legitimate. Here is their list of contacts page:

Be careful, there are a lot of shady people on Craig's list these days. Be safe.

I think it - whatever it was - is already over, ShyGreenMoon. The dates mentioned were May, 26th and 27th. It seems no one here applied, but thank you for the warning. :)
I'm still curious what it was about, I think maybe something marketing related, but not necessarily directed by Eidos.
ShyGreenMoon on 29/5/2009 at 08:12
Ah well, I was out of town until today, with no internet access. ;)
But just a reminder that Craig's List listings should always be researched and approached cautiously. There is a criminal in the Bay Area who has been luring victims out and mugging them through Craig's List.

I didn't end up going, ended up working ridiculous hours and then sleeping, as predicted. Thanks for checking the info nonetheless. Eidos HR probably would have been able to answer the question of whether they were actually running a focus group, sub-contracted or not. I'll check the papers to see if a bunch of Thief fans got mugged in an alley near the civic center. :)
Focus groups can be pretty lame, with questions like "rate the following 3 adjectives describing the character you would want to play: stealthy, wise-cracking, large-breasted," and "if the character were a fruit of vegetable, which one would they be?"
