funniest game glitches you ever saw... - by lost_soul

Let's discuss. Some of my favorites were from Duke Nukem 3d. If you blast an alien with a rocket when he goes to teleport (just before he fades out), he will still teleport. Upon teleporting back into the level later, he will immediately explode. Also, on a 486 system that only meets the minimum requirements, if you blasted one of the aliens in the first level with a rocket while he was using the toilet, he would still be there after the explosion. Then he would get up, flush the toilet and explode. That always cracked me up when I was little.
I remember there was this glitch in Quake 2 that allowed you to go invisible. I did this once or twice while online and it was quite funny. It isn't as much of a cheat as you would think, because most of the weapons are projectile based and it is very easy to tell where you are if you fire.
I've also climbed into rocks on Blood Gulch in halo. You can attack other players, but the only way they can get you is with explosives. If you use the pistol, they can't even see where it is coming from! :) Supposedly you can pass through the bars on Sidewinder near the invisibility cloak, but I could never get that to work. Apparently if you drive a vehicle toward it and jump out as if to have it squish you, it can push you through.
I also saw someone complaining the other day about how two players can kill each other at exactly the same time with melee attacks. That glitch always cracked me up.

Can't you ever come up with an example from a game made in the last five years?

Not much comes to mind. Games are boring nowadays.
Well, maybe this thing, but it never happened to me.

Some more good ones. Killing an enemy in Goldeneye 007 while he is near a ledge or on stairs will cause him to rise up when he falls forward. It is quite funny in maps like Bunker. Mines could also cause damage through solid surfaces, so you could attach prox mines to the under side of doors in multiplayer to make them impossible to see. :)
Also, it seems like games are less glitchy today than they used to be. Ever since TDS, the devs have really been cracking down on bugs.

Edit: aww, they removed the comments. It had some great ones... Anyway, as for a glitch I actually saw, I guess in a Thief FM when I fell down a hole into some water and swam over & scrambled up onto a little ledge, then a haunt fell after me, but he clipped into the ceiling somehow and managed to "run" over to me in mid-air over the water and kill me anyway.
Edit2: "Ever since TDS, the devs have really been cracking down on bugs." O holy shit I didn't even see this... Fucking gold, haha.

You're wrong, clearly devs do things differently in this post-TDS era.

Once, I came out of a Half-Life 2 loading screen with TWO Alyx's!
They kept hovering at my back, bumping into each other and apologizing, … incessantly.
Got through that corridor quickly with the extra gun help, but I was back to a single Alyx after the next loading area.

That's not a bug but a hack, if I remember correctly.

Yeah cos so many game developers today even played or remember TDS. It was 7 years ago. That's at least two lifetimes in this fast-paced industry.
Did you also know that phones have got better since the Nokia 5110? It's true!
