Anyone who's seen this thread know that I've been happily employed as a pro game designer for a bit over a month now. With my resignation from CoSaS and the canceling of all missions other than Nine Year Sleep (which is now being worked on by Immortal Thief) it should come as no surprise that my Thief-based writing is also on the chopping block. I know many of you were waiting for the print edition of the new Correspondence of Thieves, and understand that it was thrown into a bit of development hell due to the schedules of the cover artist, the formatter, and my own inability to find time to do the edits/corrections submitted by readers.
Doing a printed edition of COT was always shaky ground as far as my unauthorized use of IP owned by Square Enix went (there's no Garrett or Keepers in COT, but Hammerites are a huge part of the world), but my own employment by a rival company now places the project on no ground at all.
I could still do an edit of COT and remove anything directly linking it to Thief. I don't want to do this. I don't have the time or energy for it and it seems extremely dishonest. Even if I did do it, ZeniMax would still need to approve of my distribution of this work, which they may not do. COT2 is, of course, completely off the table. I may still write an original story using my ideas for it, but that'll be years and years way.
Hm, I wonder how that second hyperlink got in there. Oh well, your guess is as good as mine!

Wow I had no idea you got a job as a pro. Congratulations dude!:thumb:
Sad that you are going away from your involvement with thief projects though.:(
The nine year sleep looks amazing, I hope it gets finished despite you not working on it anymore.
