I don't have Deus Ex, but I was thinking it might be my next purchase.
Until I heard they were releasing a game of the year edition. Is this true? If it is, will it be worth the wait, or should I go out and but the game as soon as I can?

I found this on (
http://www.deusex-machina.com:) www.deusex-machina.com:
"Once again, the Adrenaline Vault is reporting that Eidos has officially announced the Game of the Year edition of Deus Ex, which will include the original game, the SDK, the multiplayer components, and a super special soundtrack CD with new mixes of the music from the game! Yowzers! I hope that Eidos decides to release the music cd separately as well. I'll kill for it!"

Or, if you can't wait you could buy the other version. I found at Software Etc. for only 20 dollars.

Game of the Year editions often contain nothing you can't get free off the 'Net.If you want the Software Development Kit even it may be d/llable free and legally somewhere. They usually make these editions to keep retail price high.

Of course the SDK is available; it encourages the modders. It reads like the soundtrack CD is the only added value.

It sure is the only thing really worth it. I'm disappointed. That's why I said that I hope they release it separately, because I'm not paying another $40 for the game and the crap I've already downloaded. Blech.

That's hardly a game of the year edition. They should include one of them Prima walkthoughs to intise the scared newbies.

"Take death for example. A great deal of our effort goes into avoiding it -- we make extrodinary efforts to delay it and often consider it's intrusion a tragic event. Yet we find it hard to live without it. Death gives meaning to our lives. It gives importance and value to time. Time would become meaningless if there were too much of it. If death were indefinetly put off, the human physche would end up like, well, the Gambler in the Twilight Zone episode."

I decided not to wait. I just bought it, and it's great.
It's incredible. There's so much to do!
