Since when are CD-keys printed on the game boxes? In my experience, they're almost always printed on the manual or CD inserts.

I'm looking at one right now that has the code on a sticker on the inside of the DVD box: Warcraft III and Frozen Throne.

I tend to chuck packaging out
So, how do you store the CDs/DVDs?

In the western world, we have these neat things called "jewel cases" and "DVD cases". Games usually come in them. You don't just buy a cardboard box with a disc rattling around inside.

When all the packaging is the actual DVD box, then it doesn't really help longevity of his CD's or DVDs.

I'm pretty sure most of the games I own came in paper sleeves that were rattling around inside a cardboard box.
I throw the packaging away and store the discs in binders regardless.

My interpretation of that particular "right" is that if you downloaded the game in the first place, there should be no restrictions on re-downloading it. Which is perfectly sensible.
Oh, OK I see.

As a representative of the Western World, I can prove that this is plainly not true. Doom 3, Quake 3, UT2004, Diablo I and II, Sacrifice, Deus Ex, Bloodlines and a bunch of other games I own all came in boxes, NOT DVD cases and indeed many had only paper sleeves inside. I wish what you were saying was true, but it isn't.
Perhaps you only play console games?
Matthew on 31/8/2008 at 21:54
Actually, that depends on the age and the region purchased. For example, both Bloodlines and Doom 3 came in DVD cases here, albeit an oversized one covered by an unnecessary cardboard box in the latter case.

In a CD wallet.

For the last 6 or so years, the only games that have come in cardboard boxes around here were Collectors Special Directors Limited Anniversary Editions. I haven't even played console games until february this year.

Well, at least you take care of them.
