jedi knight outcast, not that unleashed crap
They did make a sequel to Outcast, it just happened to be terrible and also forced you into fucking third person (without the use of a mod, anyway).

Speedball 2. And not that godawful remake from a couple of years ago.
Personally, I preferred the first one. It was a lot more spectacular. The bigger arena made Speedball 2 too slow.

Also, while people are remaking old fighting games, how about the only 2 (aside from Virtua Fighter) with controls/gameplay that weren't total shit:
Yie Ar Kung-Fu
Karate Champ
For controls, I would say Budokan. For gameplay, Fist 2.

Does it count if there are existing sequels already? Because I want "Little Big Adventure 3", dammit.
I'd also say SWAT 4, except #4 was maddeningly close to being perfect, and why reinvent the wheel? What I really wish is that they'd release the source code to that game, and some eager programmers would finish the job.
edit: Actually, I think this is just "some games I like and would therefore like more of", rather than "games which need a sequel" as such.

Third person was the most efficient mode for the Jedi Knight games by far. It was much too random and uncivilized to try to catch targets behind you if playing in first person.

Descent Freespace
Did they get a way home or not? I WANT TO SEE A CONCLUSION! OH GOD I WANT ONE!
And will we ever see what happens to Admiral Bosch or the Shivans?
Xwing Alliance
I want to see Uncle stung up for what he did.

I am aware of that, I was just not taking the thread title: sequel too serious, expanding it to game series that are discontinued. So an Jedi Outcast game would fit there nicely, no matter if they make it 3rd person or not. Or a mix of both.
I would like to see a Beyond Good and Evil sequel as well.
Especially after that cliffhanger that I fear will not be addressed if they ever "reboot" the franchise.

Arachnorox would be good, the game did end on a cliff-hanger!

well, I tried to list games that I thought needed a sequel due to the story being unfinished/sequels aborted/or it was a one-shot game from at least a generation back that had no sequel.

From the realm of the incredibly obvious:
An Obsidian developed KotOR III
Also:
A second, presumably differently-named, game in the Alpha Protocol universe
Richard Burns Rally 2
Arx Fatalis 2
Mercenaries 3/The Saboteur 2
Jade Empire II (fuck you)
