Mirror's Edge, please. :D I have such a love/hate relationship with that game.
FWIW: (

I'd repeat what people already said, esp the ones ending on cliffhangers ... Anachronox, System Shock 3. Might it be time to see some old places again... Zork, Ultima.
I'd like to see another Vampire The Masquerade, & a sequel to my favorite Hardwar.

well, I tried to list games that I thought needed a sequel due to the story being unfinished/sequels aborted/or it was a one-shot game from at least a generation back that had no sequel.
Yes indeed. I was actually referring to my own suggestions of LBA and SWAT with that comment :)

Dunno how I forgot about Mirror's Edge. That has to be the absolute #1 on my list of sequels I'd like, although I'm sure when we get one in 3 years it's going to be LCD'd to hell.

Vampire: Bloodlines.
Evil Islands - an odd case as there
was a sequel, but it was only available in Russia and was apparently a huge failure. I'd love to see another strategy-RPG by these guys, though.
Mirror's Edge - with less fighting this time.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

I'm pretty sure we all know what Anachronox is.
Mirror's Edge with less fighting would mean removing one fight. And frankly, I had fun messing with the acrobatic hand-to-hand stuff during that encounter.

I always thought it was Unachronox. (But yes, I'd love to see a sequel of both it and Psychonauts).

I'd love to see a sequel to Anachronox too, as long as they ditch the combat which was obviously inspired by everyone's favorite Square jRPG franchise and implemented by an talentless idiot. Nearly ruined a darned good tootin' game.
Hell, I'd settle for a fan-based remake if they changed the combat to incorporate elements of well, fun.

"But... you said it started with a 'U'!"

An Obsidian developed KotOR III
Completely agreed, as I'm sure the numeral on the end makes it clear that we're talking single-player. I think there's definitely room for one more KoTOR to wrap up the arc involving Revan. And I could see some more KoTOR games afterwards, but only if they came with an all new set of events, characters and settings.

Too many posts without mentioning
SACRIFICE.
This. Now there's a game worth seeing more of.

A proper Na Pali-set sequel to Unreal, with Cliff Blezinski not allowed anywhere near it.
I think I get what you mean, a stylistical return to the original Unreal games, but I have to be pedantic and point out that Bleszinski had been with Epic for several years when the first one came out. And,
if I recall correctly, he was responsible for some of the genuinely cooler moments in the game, like the scene when the lights go out and you battle your first Skaarj, or the crumbling bridge in the first mines, shit like that.

I actually didn't answer this thread when I first saw it because I knew someone else would say Anachronox, which is my #1 vote. There are many better games, but all the ones I can think of are either more self-contained or just don't have a lot more areas to explore in their universe. Anachronox just felt like the tip of an iceberg - it needs a sequel. Of course, that would also be pretty high on my list of "Sequel Least Likely To Ever Be Made." Sigh.
