(
http://www.mobygames.com/game/sea-legends) Sea Legends is far and away the best seafaring pirate game I ever played, including Sid Meier's attempts. A criminally underappreciated game.
As far as IW goes, if judged on its own merit as a consoley action shooter with cramped architecture, loading screens every twenty paces, and a plot that is delivered like bad fan-fiction, I suppose it's not a completely dreadful game. In contrast to DX, though, it's just depressing.

I REALLY loved SiN. It was like Quake II, but with good single-player. Nobody plays it online anymore, which makes me a sad panda. I would love to deathmatch with some folks online, but there are no servers. I think I'm the only one who really likes this game.
I love SiN, me. I remember being impressed at the time by the level of interactivity (actually being able to use the computer terminals and ATMs, for example). Even the training facility, where high scores were actually displayed on the walls - just little touches like that worked for me. I tried for ages to find a copy of the "Wages of SiN" mission pack but sadly I never managed to track one down.

Quake 2: I'm probably the only person on TTLG who admits to liking single player Quake 2. Dunno why, but probably the graphics, alien industrial setting, and music.
I loved single player Quake 2 as well. I'm not much of a multiplayer person, so I pretty much rely solely on the single player side of games. Although strangely, to this day I have NEVER heard any music during my Q2 experiences - is this just because I never have the disc in the drive whilst I'm playing?

I am also very fond of XIII, and it's a shame we'll never see the sequel the ending promised. Very French, very bizarre and very enjoyable. Plus it had a viable stealth model.
Ahh XIII, now there's a title I'd almost forgotten about. I've only ever played the demo of that, but I'd always been under the impression that the game had been quite successful. Is there any reason why they never carried on the franchise?

That would be it. The music is just normal audio tracks on the CD. You can stick it into any stereo and listen to it like that, too.

I forgot it too ... it should have been on my list. If NOLF is DX-lite, XIII is NOLF-lite. It's quite fun. :)

TTLG-related:
HL-2 and its episodes, still think that they are the most polished games I have played in a long time. It did slow down in the middle, but the combat rocked.
Dreamfall, and I can understand why people don't like it, because of it's lack of any real meat in the gameplay dept it is a love it or hate it game. But I found it to be one of the most visceral game experiences I have had in a long time.
Most sports games. I'm the guy who keeps ea and 2k's respective sport departments in business by purchasing the new releases of madden and nba 2k on their release days.

The Bloody Roar series. Apparently these things are the bane of the fighting game world. But, on the other hand, is the only fighting game series I can enjoy without somebody performing a 96-hit combo on me before I can even tell what happened, so that could be why I like them. And, I have to admit, it's pretty cool when the mole guy jumps on somebody's head, spins around super fast, and blood goes flying everywhere. It's nice and visceral without the sheer camp factor of the MK series. Not that I don't like MK, mind you...
Indeed a fun series, but some of the characters do have massive combos that can take out a lot of health. But definately enjoyable for a beginner as well. More heroic than wangsty and more serious than campy.

Amped 3 - I can see why people were annoyed by the game's insane aesthetic, but I really enjoyed it.
Dai Senryaku VII - Oddly enough, I believe this is the only (campaign-oriented) turn based strategy game I've played to completion. And it was quite long. But I throughly enjoyed it. I have yet to talk to anyone else who has heard of it, much less played it.
Dreamfall - I can see why a people would find some sections of gameplay (combat and stealth) obnoxious, but it's such a fantastic narrative combined with excellent visuals and audio.
Final Fantasy VIII - Seems to be something of a pariah to most Final Fantasy fans, but I consider it to be by far the best in the series.
Halo 1 - Not much new to say here.
Legend of Mana - Got middling reviews upon release and had been ignored since. The game's story scenarios are both surreal and surprisingly mature - one does not go into a Square game expecting understated drama, but it's present here. Also, the watercolor backgrounds are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen in a game.
Metal Gear Solid 2 - What can I say, I <3 surprises.
The Neverhood - Klayman!
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee - I remember liking this quite a bit.
Parasite Eve II - see above, though I imagine the gameplay is quite dated today.

I loved World War III - Black Gold.
It had a delayed release as it was due out just after 9-11 and was all about fighting in Central Asia for oil.
But one of the best RTS games I've ever played
Hey, I almost forgot about this one. It was indeed a great RTS.

If MGS2 is "not clicked for anybody else" category, then yes. I thought it was pretty good, just like the first one. Not releasing MGS3 for the PC is my main source of infinite hatred for Kojima and his company.

I also enjoyed Quake 2 SP. It wasn't quite as good as half-life, but Quake 4 (and hell, even Doom 3) were a lot better than HL2 in my opinion. I suppose in regards to TTLG, Doom 3 was a game I liked but apparently didn't click for anyone else. It wasn't mindblowing, and I only completed it the second time around, but it was still a solid shooter.
I also liked ThiDSf, and I know it's blasphemy around here but I didn't think loot glint was a bad idea. It's useful for those of us who haven't already completed the game ten or more times and know exactly what every piece of loot looks like, so that we don't have to pick up and drop every metal goblet to make sure it's not loot.

MGS3 is the best PS2 game ever.
