rogue trooper: bought for not much money but the game was childish, boring and the characters had lame names: gunnar for the gun, helm for the helmet..
Heaven forfend that the game should be true to its source material, eh?

baldur's gate 1: everyone advised me to play it for a couple of houres and i'd be hooked but after playing awesome rpg's made by bioware/bethesde I just couldn't play any further after 2 hours. + it was hard & your companions could die.. ( :weird: )
It was hard at first, sure, but criticizing it because your companions could die? The single worst thing in NWN2, bar perhaps neeshka and the AI, was that when your characters died, they just got up again at the end of the fight. It's a horrifically atrocious game mechanic. You could always drag them to the temple and fork out a few hundred gold for a raise dead, and there were so many npcs in BG that most of them were expendable anyway. Maybe you should be playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Well, They have never released an RPG with actually good combat, .
Jade Empire.

Jade Empire's combat was pretty horrible, and the game itself is the only Bioware game that I would say is actively bad. BG2 balances it out, though, so Bioware can still be considered mediocrity incarnate.

I agree that it's more realistic that they actually die instead of playing dead untill the round's finished and getting back up without even saying a word, but i just didn't like the game and that was just a very short summary of the things i still remember of playing that game..
Neeshka, neeshka.. she was that woman thief elf thing right?? God, she had an annoying voice and was pretty useless if i recal, but if you don't like her you could've let her stay at that inn like i did ^^
And i prefer playing pcgames so no BG: Dark Alliance for me. I have a ps2 with some racegames, platformgames and some extreme sportgames like ssx and tony hawk, but i just prefer playing on the PC. Especially the genre's that i didn't mentioned in my previous sentence (shooter/strategy/rpg's)
+ to be honest, i don't have alot of time right now on replaying older games since i'm busy with deux ex 1, later on deux ex 2 and newer games like the last remnant, bionic commando, wolverine & darksector :erg:

Beating the dead horse a little bit, but I also can't get into RTS games. I tried doing Age of Empires, and it was a little fun, but there's so much that you have to do and focus on at once that I end up getting overwhelmed and frustrated.

You just don't like it because it's not round based, do you?
I disagree, the action element of the game was what made it fun and not like every other BioWare RPG.
Now I have acraving to replay JE again.
I must say that Neeshka was awesome probably the only good thing in NWN2 which was a horrible and dull game.

The problem with JE's gameplay wasn't that the combat was action based, but rather that the combat was pretty horrible. All it boiled down to was generic button mashing and it was way, way, way too easy.
