Come on, i was just being a d*ck. Calm down now. Nothing against you personally, don't know you and all that.

dethtoll, i know you hate me so very much, but just calm yourself and use less swears. Quite simple really.
It does seem like you need a break from ttlg, or even the internet in general. You could have said nothing to this guy you know, other people were already defending you.

You were being a total fucking asshole is what you were being. There was no reason for that attack. It's the worst thing I've seen on TTLG for years.
Who the hell are you and what have you ever contributed to TTLG anyway?
Idiot.

This place would be really boring if deth wasn't around imo. Everyone being all nice to each other all the time. No fun at all.
That troll comment was very much uncalled for.
And for what it's worth, for games that got me through a dark period in my life list:
Doom, Quake, Syndicate and Ultima 8.

well I think that would actually be pretty cool. Imagine the discussions we could have! We could gently poke fun at each other without the need for absolute hostility, and talk about interesting topics.

Yeah it was uncalled for in this case - bad timing poking around i guess.
What i have contributed? I've mostly posted in the Shock/Thief 2 forums, not so much in gen-gaming.

How refreshing to see someone come to their senses.
But the real person you should be communicating with, and apologising profusely to, is dethtoll.

I don't want to sound like I'm judging you harshly here, because I don't know you outside of this thread, but if I could offer a piece of general internet and life advice: opinions are opinions. No matter how strongly you might hold one, it's no more valid than anyone else's. It's fun to brawl with people you know about games or movies or music or whatever, but telling someone you don't know that their opinion is wrong because it's different than yours just makes you look foolish.
Having said that, wtf dethy. You need to tell your younger self to go get a job. I'm tired of supporting your gaming addiction.

For me, it's always been about the immersion factor; something that just doesn't seem to happen for me while playing games with strictly 3rd person POV, albeit with a few exceptions. Each to their own, right? Not that I'm trying to be a snob, but I think anyone who enjoys 1st person POV games should give the following a try at least once in their lifetime. Though I've already played them, I still plan on going back and playing them all again.
-Deus Ex (all three)
-The Elder Scrolls series (mainly Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim)
-Mass Effect (all three)
-Far Cry (all three)
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (all three; Lost Alpha being good, but buggy to the point of making your head explode)
-Half Life series
-Fallout 3 & New Vegas
-Bioshock 1 & 2
-System Shock (only been 1 & 2 that I know of)
......... and, of course ..........
-TDP & TMA
I have to admit that I do still get a kick in firing up the old PS2 to play through my Tomb Raider series (please don't even get me started on the latest TR Reboot :nono:). If you like that type of game then you should go back and start the TR series from the beginning (Warning: the devs involved with creating TR2 should be drawn and quartered for making some of Lara's moves insanely difficult to the point of nearly impossible in that game). And Donkey Kong on the Wii is also still a lot of fun, especially if you have someone to play Diddy to your Donkey. ;)
(No, dethy, I haven't tried out Dark Souls yet, but plan to in the near future. Once I do, I figure I'll end up either cursing you all to hell, or loving you even more than I do already.)
