I must be getting old or something.

Some people take longer for the "Oooh shiny!" to wear off and their critical faculties to kick in.

And some people just liked the damn game.

I can't imagine why, as it's not a very good game even by itself.

This is what happens when you forget the topic of the thread you're posting in.

Nor bad. Just shouldn't have been made as being a sequel to Deus-Ex but as a completely new story inspired by. Would have gotten much better reactions, it's impossible not to be dissapointed when playing Deus Ex: IW after the experience that was the first. But not a bad game, pretty good actually, you just need to get over the fact that it isn't what you hoped for and enjoy the things it does right/ok. It allows for much more personal style than, well everything else minus Deus Ex/Thief/SS's.

It's SHIT
* the HUD is stupid and obtrusive (even post-patch)
* the inventory is shit (and stacking doesn't even fucking work properly, some stackable items don't stack)
* shitbag augmentations
* throwing out the skill system
* multitools and lockpicks combined? WHY?
* hacking made into an augmentation WHY? Hacking isn't even fucking worth it, there's no countdown or any information worth the trouble.
* overall oversimplification, such as numberpads being used automatically instead of dialing it in
* gleefully squicking the uncanny valley by having the worst character models this side of Oblivion
* UNIFIED AMMO IS NOT A GOOD IDEA AT ALL EVER WE ARE NOT PLAYING WOLFENSTEIN 3D ANYMORE THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
* hamfisted "choices" that would make a Bioware fan feel insulted
* loading

* 5 minutes of gameplay
